Looking for a Unique Career in Veterinary Medicine?
Wisconsin Veterinary Referral Center in Waukesha, WI is hiring a full- time Veterinary Imaging Assistant for our Radiology Diagnostic Department. This is a 1st shift opportunity.
Schedule and Compensation;
  • Full time hours
  • Five 8 hour days
  • Pay starts at $16/hr and may be higher depending on experience

Position Overview:
The Veterinary Imaging Assistant is responsible for assisting the Veterinarians and Veterinary Technicians with facilitating imaging diagnostics such as Ultrasounds, CT, MRI, and Digital Radiography.
The ideal candidate is someone with excellent client communication skills, great attention to detail, loves to learn, and a team player who enjoys working within an experienced group of Technicians and Doctors.
Responsibilities:
  • Take direction and perform duties as instructed by the Veterinarians and other Technicians as needed in imaging diagnostics.
  • Cultivate a positive atmosphere, demonstrate a friendly and courteous attitude with all co-workers throughout the hospital in order to maintain a cohesive work environment.
  • Maintain a clean, professional appearance and be able to communicate with clients as directed by the Veterinarian or Technician as needed.
  • Assist the Imaging Service in scheduling appointments, restraining patients for imaging procedures, prepping patients for procedures, and coordinating appointments among multiple services.
  • Assisting the Imaging Technicians in sending out radiographs for review.
  • Facilitating ultrasounds throughout the day.
  • Triaging and discharging outpatient ultrasounds.
  • Assist in maintaining radiography imaging database.
  • Stocking and cleaning the Radiology rooms.
  • Check email, take appropriate action as needed, and document in client record.
  • Ensure that patient records for new clients are received.
  • Scan medical records and other appropriate documents for the department.
  • Assist other departments during down time.
  • Be able to respond appropriately to patient demeanor during imaging diagnostics and communicate concerns promptly to the DVM or Veterinary Technician.
  • Assist with sedation and monitoring of patients during diagnostics.

Qualifications:
  • Minimum of high-school diploma or equivalent.
  • Minimum of 2+ years of animal handling experience.
  • 1+ year experience with animal restraint in veterinary medical setting is highly preferred.
  • The right candidate excels in written and verbal communication and is excellent with coordination to ensure efficient and effective patient care.
