The Development Coordinator supportsBrightlaneLearning's fundraising and donor engagement efforts bysupporting the planning and execution ofspecial events, strengthening donor stewardship initiatives, andassistingwith donor base expansion. This role works closely with the Chief Philanthropy Officer and Director of Development to implement development strategies that advance both annual and long-term fundraising goals aligned with the organization's strategic plan. The Development Coordinator plays a critical role in increasing departmental capacity, fostering meaningful donor relationships, and ensuring a positive and consistent supporter experience.

Duties and Responsibilities
Responsibilities include but are not limitedto:
- Fundraising & Special Events Coordination
- Support planning and execution ofspecial events, includinglogistics, timelines, vendor coordination, and volunteer engagement
- Leadidentification and outreach to auction donors and event partners
- Support event committees by coordinating communications, materials, and follow-up
- Research and coordinate cause-related marketing opportunities to increase visibility and funding
- Attend evening third-party fundraising events and representBrightlaneLearning, including delivering brief remarks, as needed
- Donor Cultivation & Stewardship
- Lead execution ofBrightlaneLearning's annual thank-a-thon, ensuring donor appreciation efforts are organized, meaningful, and well-documented
- Support donor recognition and stewardship activities to strengthen donor engagement and retention
- Assistwith donor communications, acknowledgments, and engagement touchpoints
- Donor Base Expansion & Development Support
- Support efforts to expand and diversify the donor base through research and outreachassistance
- Assistwith identification of potential corporate partnerships and sponsorship opportunities
- Contribute to fundraising campaigns and initiatives that support new or expanded programming
- Administrative & Team Support
- Maintainaccuratedonor and event records in designated tracking systems
- Support reporting and tracking of fundraising activities and outcomes
- Collaborate effectively with the development team to meet deadlines and fundraising priorities
Additional Education/Knowledge/Skills Requirements
- Education
- High school diploma or GED required
- Associate or bachelor's degree in nonprofit management, communications, marketing, or a related field preferred
- Experience
- Prior experience supporting fundraising, special events, donor stewardship, or administrative coordination preferred
- Experience working with volunteers, event committees, sponsors, or community partners is a plus
- Knowledge
- Understanding of donor stewardship practices, fundraising event logistics, and basic development operations (preferred)
- Familiarity with CRM/databases and basic data quality standards (preferred)
- Awareness of Brightlane Learning's mission and the populations served (preferred)
- Skills & Abilities
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines
- Strong written and verbal communication skills; professional customer service approach
- High attention to detail and follow-through; able to track tasks to completion
- Proficiency in Microsoft 365 and Google Workspace; ability to learn and use donor/data tracking systems
- Ability to collaborate effectively with internal team members and external partners
- Ability to handle sensitive information with professionalism and discretion

Work Schedule
In office Tuesdays/Wednesdays/Thursdays; this role will require a consistent commitment of 8 hours/day on those 3 days; the position will be in-office about 90% of the time, with occasional time spent in the community based on events and organizational needs.
