Summary
The Online Adjunct Faculty role is flexibly designed to teach one or more online courses. The role involves delivering high-quality instruction through our Learning Management System (LMS) and fostering an engaging, student-centered online learning environment. Depending on the term or program, the Online Adjunct Faculty will be responsible for managing an independent study or collaborative study/cohort format and meeting all accreditation standards outlined in the university's Online Teaching Agreement. This is a part-time position with compensation based on the number of collaborative course sections taught or independent study course completers.
*While we are continuously accepting applications for this role, we may not be actively searching for candidates of every discipline at all times.

Duties and Responsibilities
This position is primarily responsible to:
  • Testify to personal experience of salvation in Jesus Christ, affirm belief in the University's Statement of Faith, abide by and practice our Life Together Covenant, and both personally agree with and support the Foundational Documents of Taylor University.
  • Deliver online course content in accordance with the university's guidelines, syllabus requirements, and the online course blueprint.
  • Ensure course materials are up-to-date, links are functional, and the online gradebook is accurate.
  • Engage in regular and substantive interaction with students, provide timely and meaningful feedback, support student success, and maintain a positive and inclusive online learning environment.
  • Participate in assessments and quality assurance initiatives aimed at improving online learning and ensuring compliance and engage with TUO on course evaluations to make improvements, maintain best practices, and meet accreditation requirements.
  • Collaborate with the Director of Online Learning, fellow team members, and individuals outside of the Online department to develop systems and initiatives that enhance the online student experience.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Typical Qualifications
Education and Experience:
  • Minimum of a Master's degree in a related discipline to which you are applying. Terminal degree is preferred.
  • Experience teaching in higher education, especially in online or hybrid formats and familiarity with LMS platforms are highly beneficial.
