Horizon House, a non-profit organization, has been widely recognized for its services as a provider of community-based behavioral health, intellectual disabled and homeless services in Eastern Pennsylvania and the state of Delaware. Each year, Horizon House provides a continuum of services at over 100 sites to over 4,500 adults with psychiatric or developmental disabilities, drug and alcohol addictions, and/or homelessness. A pioneer in the field of community-based rehabilitation, Horizon House is widely recognized for its innovative approach to the delivery of services in a community setting.
Currently, we are seeking a Full-time Learning & Development Manager to work in our Developmental Services Division.
Purpose:
- Provides instruction for Developmental Services Orientation and Annual Required Training for all employees.
- Assists staff in operationalizing regulatory requirements, maintaining standards and adhering to established
protocols for the purpose of achieving best practices in residential supports and services. - Provides both didactic and on sight supervision of PA ODP Approved Medication Administration Course for initial
certification of employees to administer medications. - Coordinates with Operations Management and Program Directors to ensure staff attend required training.
Supervision Received: - Receives direct supervision from Quality Improvement Director.
Supervision Exercised: - Negotiated authority with all levels of staff and management in the division. (directors, managers, supervisors)
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree preferred in Social Work or Psychology and experience in the field of intellectual disabilities
or behavioral health; or any other combination of experience or training that would provide the level of
knowledge, skill and ability required. - Certified through the PA Department of Public Welfare Train the Trainer Medication Administration Program to train
staff in safe medication administration. - Three years’ experience in a Training/Developmental role.
- Proficient use of computer software and advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, a must.
- Good analytical and organizational skills.
- Experience with supervision and performance improvement.
- Knowledge of group dynamics, organization development, and training methodologies.
- Self-motivated and able to set and balance multiple priorities.
- Excellent interpersonal and written/verbal communication skills.
- Familiarity with accreditation and/or state licensure review processes, preferred.
- Must have a valid driver’s license with acceptable record.
Scope:
- Requires sitting for long periods of time while preparing lesson plans and fulfilling administrative duties; training
requires movement and bodily action; prolonged periods of standing while facilitating training.
