Lead Systems Analyst โ€“ Performance & Investment Data Location: Remote (East Coast Preferred)
Duration: Long-Term Contract / Potential Contract-to-Hire
Hours: Must be able to support stakeholders and clients across the U.S. East Coast and London
Position Overview We are seeking an experienced Lead Systems Analyst with deep expertise in Investment Performance, Performance Measurement, and Investment Data Management to join a high-performing technology and business solutions team. This role will serve as a critical liaison between business stakeholders, technology teams, and external partners, helping drive strategic initiatives related to performance data, reporting, and analytics.
The ideal candidate will possess a strong combination of Business Systems Analysis (BSA), Data Analysis, and Solution Design skills, with hands-on experience supporting performance measurement platforms and investment operations. A strong understanding of GIPS (Global Investment Performance Standards), advanced SQL skills, and the ability to translate business requirements into scalable technology solutions are essential.
This individual must be comfortable engaging with senior stakeholders, leading requirements sessions, performing data analysis, and driving solution recommendations from concept through implementation.
Key Responsibilities Business & Systems Analysis
  • Partner with business stakeholders, performance teams, operations, compliance, and technology groups to gather, analyze, and document business requirements.
  • Lead workshops and requirements sessions to identify business needs, process improvements, and system enhancements.
  • Create detailed functional requirements, user stories, process flows, data mappings, and business specifications.
  • Act as the primary liaison between business users and technical teams throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Drive solution discussions and recommend scalable, efficient approaches that align with business objectives.
Performance & Investment Data
  • Support initiatives related to investment performance measurement, attribution, benchmarking, and reporting.
  • Collaborate with business users to ensure performance calculations and reporting align with GIPS standards and firm methodologies.
  • Analyze performance data flows across upstream and downstream systems.
  • Assist in identifying and resolving performance data quality, reconciliation, and reporting issues.
  • Support integration efforts involving portfolio accounting, performance measurement, and data warehouse platforms.
Data Analysis & SQL
  • Perform complex data analysis using SQL to validate requirements, investigate issues, and support decision-making.
  • Analyze large datasets to identify trends, anomalies, and root causes.
  • Create data mappings, transformation logic, and validation rules.
  • Partner with development and QA teams to ensure data integrity across systems.
  • Support user acceptance testing and production validation activities.
Leadership & Stakeholder Management
  • Serve as a trusted advisor to business and technology stakeholders.
  • Facilitate communication between global teams across the U.S. and London.
  • Mentor junior analysts and contribute to best practices in requirements gathering and solution design.
  • Lead multiple initiatives simultaneously while managing competing priorities.
Required Qualifications
  • 8+ years of experience as a Systems Analyst, Business Systems Analyst, or Data Analyst within the investment management or financial services industry.
  • Strong experience supporting Investment Performance Measurement and Analytics functions.
  • Solid understanding of GIPS (Global Investment Performance Standards).
  • Advanced SQL skills with the ability to write complex queries, joins, aggregations, and data validation scripts.
  • Experience performing data analysis and data lineage investigations across multiple systems.
  • Strong requirements gathering, documentation, and stakeholder management experience.
  • Proven ability to bridge business and technology teams and drive solution-oriented discussions.
  • Experience working with Agile and/or Waterfall methodologies.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and facilitation skills.
