Job description

Role Summary

The Retiree Income Platform team at T. Rowe Price is seeking an experienced Lead Technical Business Analyst. The Lead Technical Business Analyst is responsible for defining business requirements, creating application and process specifications, coordinating with delivery teams, and ensuring that work is prioritized by business value and in alignment with the overarching business and technical strategies. May have dual reporting relationship to technology and to business/functional unit management. May update software configuration as applicable.

Responsibilities

  • Leads the definition and assessment of complex or enterprise-wide business needs
  • Acts as a trusted advisor to business partners, internally and externally, to understand their goals and objectives on a regular basis
  • Understands and connects business strategy with technology strategy to recommend optimal solutions in partnership with enterprise architects and engineering managers
  • Understand the technology architecture and partner with engineers and architects to enable appropriate solutions
  • Utilizes expertise with data analysis to prototype solutions using a variety of tools (e.g., SQL, Excel, etc.)
  • Write clear, concise, and well-structured technical business requirements, user stories, and documentation
  • Provides a clear and concise explanation of business strategy, technical concepts, designs, or implementation to a non-technical audience across domain(s)
  • Document and analyze the current state of the customer experience. Identify business problems and opportunities to drive business value via use cases and user journeys.
  • Become a subject matter expert and improves the overall understanding within their wider team to drive better business outcomes
  • Ensures legal and compliance reviews and adjust experiences as necessary due to regulatory changes.
  • Ensure comprehensive tracking through automated reports and create data visualizations as needed.
  • Manage onboarding, training, and ongoing coaching of team members.
  • Lead and mentor a cross-functional Agile team when serving in a product owner capacity.

Qualifications
Required:

  • Bachelor's degree or the equivalent combination of education and relevant experience AND 8+ years of total relevant work experience

Preferred:

  • Understands software engineering practices and relevant team's SDLC (Software Engineering Lifecycle)
  • Comfortable with engineering collaboration tools (e.g., Jira, Confluence, Miro, etc.) to enhance communication and execution within engineering teams
