The Energy Systems Analyst Team Lead is responsible for planning and independently performing most assignments with technical guidance for unusual or complex problems and supervisory approval of proposed project plans. Responsibilities include the ability to plan and conduct work requiring judgement in independent evaluation, selection, and substantial adaptation/modification of standard techniques, procedures and criteria.


  • Leads, schedules, and conducts site surveys to determine existing facility conditions and generate energy conservation projects.
  • Manages all aspects of preliminary engineering for projects including equipment inventories, energy conservation measures, scoping narratives, schematic drawings, definitive transaction document exhibits, etc.
  • Tracks and reports project status, schedule, and workload to ensure internal and external deadlines are met.
  • Manages the project transition process from the pre-engineering team to the design team.
  • Manages all incoming project information from internal and external stakeholders; and distributes to project team. 
  • Coordinates with clients, external resources, and internal team members to ensure that the Client requirements have been accurately documented and communicated to all parties.
  • Tracks project talent resources and metrics to ensure that the project is delivered on time and meets set parameters.
  • Ensures that all communications originated from team members to client representatives, contractors, and outside consultants are properly documented and achieved.
  • Applies knowledge of applicable codes/standards in retrofit solutions process.
  • Attends and/or teaches in-house and external training sessions in necessary technical areas related to building systems.
  • Participates in industry organizations and attends events, meetings, and activities.
  • Upholds company owner advocacy philosophy and organizational core values.
  • Supervises less experienced engineers and/or technicians while managing specific projects.

Required Education, Experience, and Qualifications
  • Must have a Baccalaureate Degree in Engineering.
  • 4+ years of experience related experience.
  • Experience with high level complex facility energy projects, with knowledge of Central Energy Plants and control systems.
  • Required experience in Excel and Word.
  • Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in written format
  • Ability to communicate effectively with internal and external customers.
  • Ability to manage time effectively to meet project deadlines.
  • Passion for quality and client satisfaction.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • Detail-oriented and willing to tackle various ongoing projects in a fast-paced environment.
  • Versed in the industry and the Company's competitors.
  • Ability to multitask and perform duties outside of the scope of work when necessary.
Preferred Education, Experience, and Qualifications
  • Experience leading Survey Teams supporting the collaboration with energy modelers, financial modelers, and developers.
  • Experience with financial plans and budget objectives.
  • Professional Engineer License.
  • Knowledge of the comprehensive business model and energy market dynamics.
  • Knowledge of the energy industry and related law, systems, codes and economics.
  • Participation in industry organizations and attends events, meetings, and activities.
Travel Requirements
  • 25-50% of time will be spent traveling to job site(s)/office location.
Physical/Work Environment Requirements
  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Climbing stairs.
  • Remaining in a stationary position, often kneeling, standing or sitting for prolonged periods.
  • Repeating motions that may include the wrists, hands and/or fingers.
  • Quiet environment.
