Description
Charleston County EMS is looking for a highly-motivated and organized administrative professional to join our team. This position will assist with all administrative support functions of the EMS Administration Office, including departmental personnel administration (new hires, employee changes, Military Leave, FMLA, etc.), Kronos timekeeping/scheduling and departmental payroll support, along with providing clerical, administrative and customer service support for the EMS Department.
HIRING HOURLY RANGE $21.66 - $28.36
OPEN UNTIL FILLED - APPLICATION REVIEW BEGINS IMMEDIATELY
Duties and Responsibilities
  • Coordinating departmental job opportunities, applications and candidate/new hire processing
  • Administering departmental personnel changes to include employee information and positions, ensuring compliance with County Human Resources and EMS Departmental policies and procedures
  • Coordinating Family and Medical Leave Act (FMLA) and Military Leave for department employees
  • Managing professional written and verbal communication with employees, new hires, applicants, management, other departments, and the public
  • Supporting departmental payroll processing bi-weekly via Kronos timekeeping/scheduling system and County payroll system
  • Providing administrative support to Department and Public Safety Directorate
  • Maintaining departmental personnel records and related software systems

Minimum Qualifications
  • High school diploma or GED; Associate Degree preferred;
  • Three (3) years or more of experience in related field (or equivalent combination of experience, training, and education which provides the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to perform the work)

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
  • Must have ability to perform a wide variety of duties and responsibilities with accuracy and according to time-sensitive deadlines, ensuring sound judgement and discretion in handling sensitive or confidential matters
  • Must have excellent organizational skills with a high attention to detail
  • Ability to interpret and analyze payroll reports for accuracy and compliance with County and departmental policies and procedures
  • Excellent written, verbal, interpersonal communication skills
  • Ability to work independently to meet departmental goals and objectives
