Overview

The Research & Development Analyst II assists with primary and secondary research, analysis, and reporting of the competitive landscape, credit union programs and services, member relationships, and emerging industry trends. Ensures integrity and accuracy of data gathering and reporting and communicates results in an informative and effective manner.

Responsibilities
    Conducts quantitative and qualitative review of member relationships by conducting analyses of the Credit Union's programs, member demographics, and member preferences.
  • Conducts stakeholder interviews to acquire requirements, works with business partners to obtain data, and validates data from different sources.
  • Conducts market research to identify trends in products (i.e. pricing), delivery channels, best practices, and consumer preferences related to the financial services industry.
  • Provides competitive analysis and recommendations based on market offerings, pricing, and trends.
  • Assists with activities that support the strategic recommendations for present and future products, such as reviewing customers' needs, market landscape, industry trends, and product requirements.
  • Assists the Manager of Research & Development with key projects initiated by the department and the Credit Union.
  • Works with Manager of Research & Development and team members to conduct quantitative and qualitative analysis of new product/service ideas and/or product/service changes.
  • Works with leaders and peers to prepare recommendations for management using business case analysis to quantify the strategic and financial benefits for innovations that merit further development.
  • Assists in running queries, producing reports, and analyzing data from multiple sources (i.e., data warehouse, third-party peer data systems, etc.).
  • Assists with updates and analysis of product metrics to track performance and areas of improvements (including financials, member satisfaction, customer expectations, market requirements, key performance metrics).
  • Assists with ad-hoc surveys; designs workflows, tests and validates workflow, deploys and analyzes surveys, and reports survey results.
  • Assists with internal survey processes; tests and validates workflow, deploys and analyzes surveys, and reports survey results.
  • Assists in reviewing scorecard performance metrics to ensure alignment with the corporate strategy; implements structural updates to scorecards; updates and validates data for accuracy; reports on the results.
  • Services as a back-up for member surveys, including deployment, analysis, and reporting.
  • Work within their team and have a direct impact on themselves and their direct processes.
Qualifications

Education

  • 4 Year / Bachelor's Degree Preferred
  • Bachelors degree in Business Management, Organizational Development or related discipline

Experience

  • 2-4 years of experience in data analysis and/or market research.
Knowledge, Skills & Ability
  • Working knowledge of financial institution operations preferred.
  • Strong working knowledge of the Microsoft suite of office products; strong knowledge of Microsoft Excel and application of analytical formulas.
  • Experience with tools and applications commonly used in data analysis such as, Tableau, Python, Jupyter, R, and Excel.
  • Working knowledge of SQL preferred.
  • Must have an analytical approach and be able to analyze and visualize diverse and large sets of data.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently with minimal supervision and in a team-oriented environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to work with confidential data and ensure integrity of data.
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate to all levels of employees including management using excellent verbal and written skills.
