Position Overview

Cleaver-Brooks is seeking a results-driven Design Engineer to support advanced product development initiatives. This role works within a product development environment focused on research, product design, and technology integration to shape the future of industrial heating solutions. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to design, develop, and launch next-generation products that strengthen Cleaver-Brooksโ€™ leadership in sustainable, high-efficiency solutions.

Key Responsibilities

Innovation and Product Development

  • Collaborate with R&D engineers to develop high-performance, energy-efficient thermal solutions aligned with business objectives.
  • Identify and integrate emerging technologies, materials, and design methodologies to improve product performance.
  • Ensure products meet regulatory, performance, and safety requirements, including applicable ASME Pressure Vessel Codes.

Project Management and Execution

  • Oversee product development and testing activities.
  • Develop and manage project timelines, budgets, and deliverables to ensure quality and on-time execution.
  • Apply agile and lean engineering principles to improve design and development efficiency.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Serve as a technical resource for internal stakeholders on design, application, and performance considerations.
  • Partner with suppliers and vendors to support cost-effective, high-quality manufacturing solutions.

Industry Knowledge and Compliance

  • Monitor industry trends, regulatory updates, and competitive developments to inform product strategy.
  • Ensure ongoing compliance with safety regulations, codes, and industry standards.
  • Contribute to technical knowledge sharing through presentations, innovation forums, or intellectual property efforts as appropriate.

Qualifications and Experience

Education

  • Bachelorโ€™s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related technical discipline is required.

Experience

  • 3 to 5 years of experience in R&D, product design, or product development.

Technical Skills

  • Experience with CFD and FEA analysis tools.
  • Knowledge of heat transfer, combustion systems, and ASME Pressure Vessel Codes.
  • Familiarity with machining processes, sheet metal fabrication, welding, and industrial piping.
  • Experience with engineering design, prototyping, and product testing.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to communicate technical concepts clearly to engineering teams, customers, and leadership.
