This is a full-time, full-time (40 hours/week), on-site or remote contract role located in New York, NY
Summary
This role is a high-impact Mechanical Engineering position focused on designing and delivering next-generation, AI-optimized data center infrastructure at gigawatt scale.
You will own mechanical systems end-to-end-from early-stage concept design and analytical modeling through construction and deployment-supporting high-density compute environments. The work centers on developing scalable, modular mechanical templates and cooling solutions that enable rapid global rollout of data center capacity.
This is a technically deep and execution-heavy role, requiring strong ownership across design, analysis, and external partner coordination in highly complex, fast-moving infrastructure programs.
Our Ideal Candidate
  • 5-8 years of experience in mechanical engineering for large-scale industrial or mission-critical facilities (data centers strongly preferred)
  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering
  • Strong experience with high-density cooling systems, including liquid-to-chip and immersion cooling
  • Proficiency in Revit / BIM for design development and template creation
  • Experience with CFD modeling and thermal/capacity planning
  • Strong ability to manage external engineering partners and drive technical accountability
  • Comfort operating in fast-paced, ambiguous, high-ownership environments
  • Preferred: Professional Engineer (PE) license

Responsibilities
  • Lead design and development of mechanical systems for AI-optimized, high-density data centers
  • Develop modular mechanical templates to enable repeatable, scalable global deployment
  • Serve as technical liaison between internal engineering teams and external consultants
  • Ensure mechanical systems integrate with high-density cooling and power architectures
  • Own systems from conceptual design and modeling through construction and commissioning
  • Perform CFD modeling and capacity analysis to inform design decisions
  • Manage external partners and ensure delivery of high-quality mechanical designs
  • Continuously improve mechanical standards and deployment methodologies across projects

Compensation & Benefits
  • The base salary for this W-2 position ranges from $96.15 - $120.19 per hour, depending on experience, skills, qualifications, and location.
  • Medical Coverage: Two United Healthcare plans (PPO and HDHP with HSA), with employer contributions toward premiums; coverage begins the 1st of the month after 60 days of employment
  • Dental & Vision: United Healthcare dental with 100% preventive care coverage and vision benefits for exams, frames, lenses, or contacts
  • Wellbeing Support: Employee Assistance Program (EAP) offering confidential counseling plus additional wellness and care navigation resources
  • Retirement & Savings: 401(k) eligible after 30 days with automatic 6% enrollment (opt-out available), 1% annual increases up to 10%, plus HSA with up to $480 employer contribution
