As of Jul 5, 2026, the average yearly pay for data integrity engineer in the United States is $129,716.00, according to ZipRecruiter salary data. Most workers in this role earn between $114,500.00 and $137,500.00 per year, depending on experience, location, and employer.

What are the 4 types of data integrity?

Data integrity in a Data Integrity Engineer role refers to the accuracy, consistency, and reliability of data throughout its lifecycle. The four main types are physical integrity (protection against physical damage), logical integrity (accuracy and consistency of data within databases), referential integrity (maintaining valid relationships between data), and data integrity constraints (rules enforcing data validity). Ensuring these types are maintained often involves using database management tools, validation processes, and security measures.

What is the difference between Data Integrity Engineer vs Data Quality Analyst?

AspectData Integrity EngineerData Quality Analyst
Primary FocusEnsuring accuracy, consistency, and security of data across systemsAssessing and improving data quality, completeness, and usability
Skills & CertificationsDatabase management, SQL, data governance, certifications like CDMPData analysis, data profiling, quality frameworks, certifications like CDMP
Work EnvironmentIT teams, data engineering, database administrationBusiness analysis, data analysis teams, quality assurance
Industry UsageTech, finance, healthcare, where data security is criticalRetail, marketing, finance, focusing on data usability

While both roles focus on data, Data Integrity Engineers primarily ensure data security and consistency across systems, whereas Data Quality Analysts focus on assessing and improving data quality for business insights. Both roles often collaborate but serve distinct functions within data management.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a Data Integrity Engineer, and why are they important?

To thrive as a Data Integrity Engineer, you need strong analytical skills, a background in computer science or information systems, and experience with data management principles. Familiarity with database platforms (such as SQL), data validation tools, and knowledge of regulatory compliance standards are typically required. Attention to detail, problem-solving ability, and effective communication help ensure data accuracy and facilitate collaboration across teams. These skills are critical for maintaining reliable, secure, and compliant data systems that support informed business decisions.

What engineers make $300,000 a year?

Senior engineers in specialized fields such as data engineering, software engineering, or machine learning engineering can earn $300,000 or more annually, especially with extensive experience, advanced skills, and working in high-demand industries or companies. Compensation often includes base salary, bonuses, and stock options, and requires strong technical expertise and certifications.

What engineers make $500,000?

Senior data integrity engineers, especially those with extensive experience, advanced certifications, and expertise in database management, data governance, and security, can earn salaries approaching or exceeding $500,000 annually in high-paying industries or companies. Compensation often includes base salary, bonuses, and stock options, particularly in technology or finance sectors.

Can I make 200k as a data engineer?

Data engineers can earn $200,000 or more annually, especially with experience, advanced skills in cloud platforms, big data tools, and certifications. Salaries vary by location, industry, and company size, with senior roles and specialized expertise commanding higher pay.

What are Data Integrity Engineers?

Data Integrity Engineers are professionals responsible for ensuring the accuracy, consistency, and reliability of data within an organization’s systems. They design and implement processes to prevent data corruption, loss, or unauthorized modification. These engineers work closely with database administrators, data analysts, and IT teams to monitor data flows, validate data quality, and enforce data governance policies. Their role is crucial in industries where high-quality data is essential for decision-making, compliance, and operational efficiency.

What are some common challenges Data Integrity Engineers face when ensuring data quality across large, complex systems?

Data Integrity Engineers often encounter challenges such as managing data consistency across multiple databases, identifying and resolving discrepancies caused by data migrations, and ensuring compliance with regulatory standards. Additionally, they must frequently collaborate with software developers and database administrators to implement automated validation processes and address data anomalies promptly. Staying updated with evolving best practices and tools is crucial, as data environments and requirements can change rapidly in large organizations.

Job description

About the Role

As the Design Data Integrity Engineer, you will ensure the accuracy, completeness, and compliance of engineering drawings and models. You will serve as the quality gate for design data, verifying adherence to drafting standards, dimensioning practices, and configuration management requirements before release. Your work will directly support the production of error-free, manufacturable, and compliant engineering designs.

What You'll Do
  • Review and verify engineering drawings, models, and documentation against company, industry, and regulatory standards
  • Check drawings for compliance with ASME Y14.5 Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) and ASME Y14 drafting standards
  • Identify and document errors, inconsistencies, and missing information in design data
  • Provide clear feedback and recommendations to design engineers for correction and improvement
  • Validate the accuracy of CAD models and associated metadata before release
  • Ensure drawings reflect design intent and support producibility and manufacturability
  • Collaborate with multiple design engineering organizations supporting multiple commodity types while ensuring design standards and configuration management processes are met.
  • Eg. Machine Parts, Composites, Wiring Harnesses, PCBAs, etc.
  • Support drawing release processes within PLM systems (e.g., Teamcenter, Windchill, Enovia)
  • Coordinate with Configuration Management team when drawing/model issues may impact change notices, effectivity, or configuration control
  • Participate in tolerance stack-up and interface checks to ensure fit, form, and function integrity
  • Contribute to process improvements that enhance drawing quality and release efficiency
What You Need
  • To be detail-oriented with a strong ability to identify discrepancies in complex design data
  • 5+ years of experience in producing, reviewing or checking engineering drawings or model based definition in aerospace, automotive, or other complex product environments
  • Proficiency with CAD tools (NX, CATIA, CREO, or equivalent) for viewing and validating models and drawings
  • Experience with Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) systems such as Teamcenter, Windchill, or Enovia
  • Strong knowledge of ASME Y14.5 GD&T and ASME Y14 drafting standards
  • Ability to interpret engineering drawings, CAD models, and metadata accurately
  • Familiarity with tolerance analysis and drawing release processes
  • Basic understanding of configuration management concepts (effectivity, baselines, change control)
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills to document findings and provide feedback
  • Ability to collaborate across design, manufacturing, quality, and configuration management teams
  • Bonus Qualifications
  • Prior experience working for an aerospace OEM or tier 1 supplier, with exposure to large-scale product development and release processes
  • Background as a senior design engineer interested in contributing their expertise to shape methods, standards, and best practices across the organization while remaining engaged in new aircraft design
  • Experience checking flight hardware, test hardware, or ground support equipment drawings
  • Familiarity with model-based definition (MBD) and digital thread practices
  • Knowledge of design for manufacturability (DFM) and producibility best practices
  • Exposure to tolerance stack-up and interface analysis workflows
  • Experience mentoring or guiding junior engineers and drafters on drawing standards
  • Hands-on experience with aerospace or highly regulated engineering environments
