Digital Analytics Engineer / Senior Google Analytics Digital Measurement Strategist
Location: Remote (NYC,NY)
Position Summary
We are seeking a Senior Digital Measurement Strategist to assist the client with digital measurement governance, analytics implementation, and data quality efforts for our ecommerce business. This role is responsible for ensuring analytics and marketing technologies are implemented accurately, perform efficiently, coply with privacy requirements, and deliver meaningful business insights. The ideal candidate combines deep expertise in GA4, GTM, server-side tagging, and consent management with the ability to translate business requirements into scalable measurement solutions.
Key Responsibilities
Measurement Strategy & Governance
  • Own measurement strategy, governance standards, and implementation best practices.
  • Partner with business, product, marketing, and engineering teams to define measurement requirements and success metrics.
  • Ensure analytics implementations align with business objectives and reporting needs.
  • Maintain measurement documentation, taxonomy standards, and tracking inventories.

Tag Management & Compliance
  • Own and maintain Google Tag Manager (web and server-side) implementations.
  • Design and govern data layer architecture to support analytics and marketing use cases.
  • Implement, QA, and optimize GA4 tracking, marketing pixels, and server-side integrations.
  • Partner with Legal and Privacy teams to ensure compliance with GDPR, CCPA, CPRA, and consent requirements.
  • Manage consent-aware tracking through platforms such as Clarip, OneTrust or TrustArc.
  • Monitor tag performance, identify implementation gaps, and drive continuous optimization.

Data Quality & Analytics
  • Serve as the steward of analytics data quality and tracking accuracy.
  • Conduct audits to identify tracking inconsistencies, duplication, and measurement gaps.
  • Develop monitoring and QA processes to proactively identify issues.
  • Support reporting and analytics teams by ensuring data is accurate, accessible, and actionable.
  • Work alongside product managers, developers, QA and data engineering teams to ensure GA tracking is implemented correctly and drives insights.

Stakeholder Collaboration
  • Extremely strong stakeholder managements skills.
  • Extremely strong verbal and presentation skills.
  • Present recommendations and findings to technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Act as the primary measurement subject matter expert across teams.
  • Build trust through transparency, data accuracy, and strategic guidance.

Qualifications & Skills Must Have
  • Advanced experience with GA4 and Google Tag Manager.
  • Experience with server-side tagging and data layer design.
  • Knowledge of consent management platforms and privacy regulations.
  • Strong understanding of JavaScript and web technologies.
  • Experience troubleshooting analytics and marketing technology implementations.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.

Preferred
  • BigQuery and Looker Studio experience.
  • Experience with Conversion APIs (Meta CAPI, etc.).
  • Ecommerce analytics and experimentation experience.
  • Familiarity with attribution and digital marketing measurement
