Pay:$55,000
Position Overview
Southern Live Oak Wellness is seeking an experienced and dependable Kitchen Manager to oversee daily kitchen operations in a fast-paced behavioral healthcare environment. This leadership role is responsible for ensuring high-quality meal preparation, maintaining food safety compliance, supervising kitchen staff, and supporting the nutritional needs of clients through organized and efficient kitchen management.
The ideal candidate is hands-on, detail-oriented, and experienced in both culinary operations and team leadership.
Key Responsibilities
  • Ensure compliance with all Board of Health regulations and State of Georgia guidelines
  • Maintain active Certified Food Manager compliance standards
  • Ensure kitchen staff obtain and maintain Food Handler or Certified Food Manager certifications
  • Verify all menus are approved and signed by the location Dietician or Executive Chef
  • Ensure adherence to nutrition guidelines and portion control standards
  • Create, update, and post client menus regularly
  • Supervise, train, and coach kitchen staff to ensure policies and procedures are followed effectively
  • Prepare meals including bag lunches, dinners, breakfast items, and snacks
  • Ensure breakfast items are properly stocked and prepared daily
  • Oversee inventory management, purchasing, and food ordering
  • Monitor dry storage products and ensure no expired items are present
  • Ensure all inventory is secured in designated locked storage areas
  • Maintain a clean, sanitary, and organized kitchen environment
  • Ensure all kitchen appliances and equipment are properly cleaned and maintained
  • Operate commercial kitchen equipment safely and efficiently
  • Utilize batch and scratch cooking methods to support meal production
Minimum Qualifications
  • Minimum 1 year of experience working in a behavioral health facility preferred
  • Minimum 2 years of hands-on food production experience required
  • Active ServSafe Certification required
  • HACCP Certification required
  • Experience with scratch and batch cooking production
  • Hotel or restaurant kitchen experience preferred
  • Knowledge of special diets and nutritional modifications preferred
  • Strong leadership, organization, and communication skills
