Provides consistent leadership, promotes high standards of food, customer service and participates in department goal development. Leads and assists with developing catering programs, executes, organizes, and oversees the execution of catering events to make a positive impact on a target audience. This position will ensure all catering events, are successful and cost-effective, paying attention to budget and time constraints. This position will be expected to work closely with the culinary team to create fresh ideas within the scope of Shepherd Center's philosophy, policies, and procedures.
Accountabilities:
  • Coordinate and lead catering operations to assure quality services.
  • Perform menu selection and food preparation to ensure all events are successful.
  • Explore opportunities to obtain new catering opportunities.
  • Develop positive working relationship with existing customers for repeat business.
  • Work consistently with Food & Nutrition Service staff on the operation and execution of events.
  • Respond to customer inquiries in accurate and timely manner.
  • Prepare comprehensive catering order form according to client's requirements and interests.
  • Attend all relevant Food & Nutrition Services meetings on regular basis.
  • Adhere to sanitation and safety standards.
  • Assist with developing pricing, special menus when working with catering clients
  • Maintains or changes product displays including those required for periodic events
  • Performs product inventory in accordance with established policies and maintains related records
  • Performs other related duties as assigned or required.

Qualifications
  • Education and Training: High school diploma required but bachelor's degree is preferred
  • 1 year of experience in retail sales and customer service preferred
  • Ability to coordinate catering operations across the department.
  • Proficient in interacting with catering and culinary staff to communicate information relevant to events
  • Lift a maximum of 50 lbs.
  • Must be able to bend and squat repetitive action
  • Reach above shoulder level repetitive action
  • To use right hand and left hand for repetitive action
  • To perform simple grasping
  • Able to push and pull 25lbs of force maximum
  • Employee must use right foot and use left foot for repetitive action
