Job Description

Timmons Group is seeking a skilled and customer-focused IT Specialist to join our Raleigh, NC office. This role is ideal for a tech-savvy professional who thrives in a dynamic environment and enjoys solving complex technical challenges. As an IT Specialist, you’ll be a key troubleshooter and support resource for hardware and software across the organization. You’ll manage software license servers (e.g., Bentley SELECT, ArcGIS, Adobe, Microsoft, Autodesk), monitoring tools (e.g., System Center), backup solutions (physical and cloud-based), and provide advanced support for critical user issues.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities of a successful candidate include but are not limited to:

  • Manage IT services, tools, and licensing components
  • Support end-users and teams in designing solutions and resolving technical issues
  • Collaborate with the Systems Administrator to address networking problems
  • Continuously learn new technical skills and procedures
  • Work independently on projects and deliver effective solutions

Skills/Requirements of a successful candidate include but are not limited to:

  • Bachelor’s degree in IT, Information Systems, or Computer Science (preferred)
  • 3–5 years of relevant experience (preferred)
  • Strong knowledge of Windows and Linux operating systems
  • Familiarity with virtualization platforms and AutoCAD-related software (a plus)
  • Basic understanding of IPv4 networking
  • Ability to diagnose performance bottlenecks (bandwidth, I/O, memory, CPU)
  • Experience with web application administration (IIS, Nginx, Apache)
  • Proficiency in server OS administration (Windows Server, Ubuntu, RedHat)
  • Scripting skills (PowerShell, Bash, Command Line)
  • Office365 administration experience
  • Availability for occasional night/weekend support
  • Strong problem-solving and remote troubleshooting skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication
  • Experience with Autodesk and ArcGIS products
  • A friendly, customer-service mindset
  • Initiative and a passion for continuous learning
  • Professionalism and maturity in handling responsibilities
