Job description

Who We Are
At Freestone, we believe in making a meaningful difference by focusing on what truly matters to our clients. With a 27-year history of consistent growth and success, we are an independent wealth and asset management firm with over $14.5 billion in assets under management. Headquartered in Seattle, with a team of over 120 professionals, we are dedicated to delivering a highly personalized experience that combines intelligent, thoughtful advice with unique investment strategies and comprehensive financial planning.
About the Role
Freestone's next phase of growth is powered by advisor talent. We are seeking an experienced advisor recruiter to lead the identification, engagement, and conversion of high-quality financial advisors who want to build their practice on our platform. The hire will be responsible for recruiting both experienced lateral hires and emerging talent. This is a senior, strategic role that sits at the intersection of business development and talent acquisition.
The recruiter will report to a member of Freestone's executive team and will work closely with the hiring team within advisory leadership to shape our growth strategy, build a durable sourcing pipeline, and serve as a compelling ambassador for the Freestone brand in the markets we serve and beyond.
Key Responsibilities
Advisor Sourcing & Pipeline Development
  • Own end-to-end sourcing and recruitment of experienced client advisors and emerging advisor talent, with a focus on candidates who have demonstrated client relationship development and AUM growth
  • Build and maintain a continuous pipeline of advisor candidates through proactive outreach, networking, referrals, industry events, LinkedIn Recruiter, and other channels relevant to the wealth management community
  • Identify and engage advisors at wirehouse, regional broker-dealer, and RIA firms who may be seeking a better long-term home; cultivate long-lead relationships with high-potential candidates who are not yet actively looking
  • Partner with Freestone's SAN and channel partner relationships to surface advisor referral opportunities and coordinate outreach
  • Leverage Greenhouse, our internal ATS, to track candidates, manage pipeline stages, and report on funnel metrics

Candidate Evaluation & Process Management
  • Conduct screening interviews to evaluate advisor candidates against Freestone's profile: AUM, book composition, client segment fit, compensation structure, non-solicit considerations, and cultural alignment
  • Work with the hiring manager and executive team to design and maintain a structured interview rubric for advisor searches, including work samples and behavioral interviews
  • Coordinate all aspects of the candidate lifecycle - scheduling, interview preparation, feedback collection, reference checks, background checks, and offer logistics - ensuring a best-in-class candidate experience
  • Manage offer conversations in coordination with leadership, including compensation modeling and transition support framing

Freestone Brand & Market Positioning
  • Serve as a knowledgeable, credible, and enthusiastic ambassador for the Freestone platform, articulating our value proposition to advisors across career stages
  • Develop and refine recruiting collateral tailored to advisor candidates, including platform overviews, compensation explainers, and transition guides
  • Represent Freestone at industry conferences and advisor-facing events to build brand presence in the advisor talent market

Broader Recruiting Support
  • Track and report recruiting KPIs to the leadership team on a regular cadence
  • Conduct interview training for teammates on an ongoing basis
  • Assist with internship programming and campus recruiting efforts as relevant

Qualifications & Skills
  • The ideal candidate will have 5+ years of recruiting experience, with at least 2-3 years focused on financial advisor or wealth management talent acquisition
  • Demonstrated experience recruiting advisors from wirehouse, regional BD, or RIA environments strongly preferred; recruiting agency experience in financial services a plus
  • Working knowledge of advisor compensation structures, transition dynamics, non-solicit considerations, and the regulatory landscape relevant to advisor moves
  • Exceptional relationship-building, communication, and influencing skills. This hire needs to be comfortable engaging senior advisors and Freestone leadership alike
  • Strong organizational and project management skills; able to manage multiple searches simultaneously with discipline and precision
  • Proficiency in LinkedIn Recruiter, ATS platforms, and Microsoft Office suite
  • Bachelor's degree required; CFP, Series 65, or other industry credential is a plus but not required

Why Join Us?
  • Base salary of $125,000 - $200,000, dependent on experience, with bonus potential tied to firm and individual performance
  • Comprehensive benefits including medical, dental, vision, 401(k) matching, life and disability insurance, parental leave, and flex spending
  • Generous paid time off-17 days of vacation, plus 10 paid holidays, Summer Fridays
  • Meal perks, company events, team celebrations, and more
  • A collaborative, fun, and supportive culture where you're encouraged to innovate and grow

Our Core Values
  • Commitment: Commitment underlines your integrity. You bring your best every day and have the courage to dedicate energy toward what truly matters.
  • Collaboration: Collaboration fuels your innovation, creativity, and progress. Through teamwork and authentic communication, you conquer common goals while simultaneously strengthening the fabric of our culture.
  • Continuous Improvement: You are a lifelong learner, you seek first to understand, are solution-oriented, and unequivocally open-minded.
