Corporate Traffic Logistics is a family-owned and operated third-party logistics company built on a unique three-division model-Brokerage, Assets, and IT/Development-allowing us to consistently exceed customer expectations and deliver unmatched service. As the freight industry continues to evolve and competition intensifies, we are seeking a skilled Drayage & Intermodal Operations Specialist to join our team. In this role, you will coordinate and manage the day-to-day movement of containers between ports, rail ramps, warehouses, and customer facilities, working closely with drivers, dispatch teams, rail terminals, steamship lines, and customers to ensure efficient freight movement. The ideal candidate thrives in a fast-paced logistics environment, demonstrates strong problem-solving abilities, and can effectively manage multiple shipments while maintaining accurate operational records.

Key Responsibilities

  • Coordinate daily drayage and intermodal shipments between ports, rail ramps, and customer facilities.
  • Communicate with brokers, drivers, and customers to provide shipment status updates and operational information.
  • Dispatch drivers and monitor container movement to ensure on-time pickups and deliveries.
  • Track container status through TMS systems, rail portals, and steamship line websites.
  • Schedule delivery and pickup appointments with warehouses, rail yards, and terminals.
  • Resolve any operational issues.
  • Ensure compliance with port, rail, and terminal regulations and documentation requirements.
  • Monitor detention, demurrage, and per diem timelines to minimize additional costs.
  • Maintain accurate shipment records and update load status in internal systems.
  • Provide proactive updates to customers and internal teams regarding shipment progress.
  • Collaborate with sales, customer service, and accounting teams to support customer needs and operational efficiency.

Required Qualifications

  • 1-3+ years of experience in drayage, intermodal logistics, freight brokerage, or transportation operations.
  • Knowledge of port and rail operations, container logistics, and drayage processes.
  • Experience using Transportation Management Systems (TMS) and shipment tracking tools.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple shipments simultaneously.
  • Excellent communication skills with drivers, customers, and logistics partners.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-volume logistics environment.
