Job Details
Job Summary:
The Director of Intermodal Operations will oversee customer service, rail planning, network management and capacity planning.
Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Oversee all aspects of customer service including order management, timely problem resolution, tracking and tracing, and customer communication.
  • Lead intermodal planning including route management, capacity assignment, rail waybill and reservations.
  • Establish and track KPIs to measure efficiency and productivity Lead initiatives to transform from reactive issue management to structured processes.
  • Collaborate with railroad partners to align operational goals and manage rail service.
  • Drive proactive communication between internal and external partners.
  • Measure, monitor and improve on-time performance.
  • Manage and mentor a team of intermodal operations staff, ensuring high performance and professional development.
  • Implement technology driven solutions to reduce manual workflows and streamline TMS based activities.

Requirements
Skills and Abilities:
  • Strong understanding of intermodal rail operations and dispatch workflows
  • Proven leadership and management skills
  • Exceptional communication, organizational, and analytical skills
  • Proficiency in transportation management systems (TMS) and other relevant software
  • Excellent computer skills and proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint
  • Office based position located in Tampa, FL
  • Ability to travel as needed for business purposes

Education and Experience
  • Bachelor's degree in Transportation, Logistics, Business, Engineering or related fields
  • 7+ years of progressive operational leadership experience in freight, transportation, rail, or intermodal environments

Additional Job Information
Supervisory Responsibilities:
  • Will have direct reports and oversee multiple teams.
  • This position reports to the VP - Multimodal Solutions.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work:
  • This is a full-time in office position, and days and hours of work are Monday through Friday.

Travel Requirements: 15%
