Job description

** Hybrid role - Must be based in Charlotte, NC **

Oversee Domestic Operations to ensure proper chassis supply is maintained in each market and specific locations to support our customerโ€™s needs.

Duties and Responsibilities

Provides support and insight to Pool Managers and supervisors in order to make effective decisions to reduce costs and improve revenue

  • Collaborate with all functional departments through implementation of new business models to ensure a smooth and successful execution
  • Develop clear and measurable objectives for the Domestic Operations team that support the companyโ€™s overall business strategy
  • Liaison with vendors, rail operators, and customers to ensure operational satisfaction
  • Leads or participates in meetings with key stakeholders internally such as Domestic Commercial team.ย  Lead and participate in external meetings with Customers, Vendors and host railroads
  • Develop key agenda items and lead the daily Domestic Team Meeting
  • Develop cost saving initiatives on an on-going basis to ensure year over year savings
  • Works closely with field Maintenance and Repair colleagues to ensure that the appropriate quantity of chassis are repaired and available
  • Provides required inputs for annual budget and provides insight and analysis on monthly expenses in review of costs better or wors vs budget
  • Implements and monitors adherence to all DCLI policies including, but not limited to harassment and affirmative action/equal employment; insures compliance and cooperation
  • Develop managers, supervisors and staff. Provide input and oversight for annual appraisal process

        Qualifications

        • 7 to 10 years of operations experience in the intermodal, trucking, transportation, or equipment leasing industry, including at least 5 years of management experience
        • Team player with strong interpersonal and communication skills
        • Ability to prioritize, meet deadlines and excel in a fast paced and dynamic work environment
        • Highly organized and able to handle multiple tasks simultaneously
        • Ability to make clear and actionable business recommendations
        • Flexibility with the ability to quickly adapt to change
        • Strong computer skills (Tableau, Excel, PowerPoint, Word)
        • Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug screening.
