Cavallo Solutions

Grand Rapids, MI • On-site

Full-time

Re-posted 12 days ago

Job description

At Cavallo, we develop advanced profit and workflow technologies designed to enhance and optimize Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central for wholesale distributors. We are seeking a highly skilled Business Central Product Implementation Specialist to join our Professional Services team.

Distinct from traditional ERP consulting positions centered on core financial modules or general ledger configuration, this role serves as the definitive deployment lead for Cavallo's proprietary cloud software suite. The primary objective is to engineer, configure, and embed Cavallo's advanced workflow and optimization extensions directly into client Business Central environments to drive operational efficiency.

This position is ideal for Business Central systems experts seeking to specialize in high-impact, proprietary product delivery and push the functional boundaries of the BC platform using Cavallo products.

Key Responsibilities

Technical Product Deployment & Embedding

  • Own the Cavallo Implementation Lifecycle:Lead the functional and technical deployment of Cavallo's BC cloud software suite from environment preparation through to go-live.
  • Extension Configuration & Optimization:Act as the hands-on engineer responsible for configuring Cavallo's proprietary extensions, ensuring they sit perfectly on top of the client's BC infrastructure and align with their specific distribution workflows.
  • Advanced Workflow Engineering:Utilize Cavallo's powerful workflow engine to design, build, and automate complex order-to-cash and inventory processes directly within the client's BC environment.
  • Extension & Environment Safeguarding:Evaluate client environments for custom AL extensions, third-party ISV apps, or API integrations that might conflict with Cavallo's software logic, proactively troubleshooting to ensure high performance and an upgrade-safe environment.

Legacy Migrations

  • Fit-Gap & Customization Guardrails:Run highly technical discovery sessions to identify gaps between out-of-the-box BC functionality, Cavallo products, and custom code, determining the most efficient technical path forward.
  • System Performance & Optimization:Troubleshoot and resolve complex system risks, performance bottlenecks, and data integrity challenges throughout the implementation lifecycle.

Partner Collaboration & Technical Leadership

  • Partner Alignment:Collaborate closely with Microsoft Dynamics partners and ISVs to co-architect multi-vendor solutions, ensuring Cavallo products harmonize perfectly with the core BC base application.
  • Internal Subject Matter Expert:Serve as the final internal escalation point for complex BC functionality questions, mentoring the broader team to elevate collective technical capabilities.

Required Qualifications & Skills

  • Deep Business Central Expertise:4+ years of dedicated, hands-on experience implementing, configuring, and customizing Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central (SaaS environment required).
  • Technical Breadth:Strong understanding of BC architecture, data schemas, cloud environments, and standard modules (specifically Inventory, Sales, and Distribution).
  • Development & API Familiarity:Solid understanding of AL development principles, event-driven architecture, web services (OData/REST APIs), and BC extension capabilities.
  • Proven Migration Track Record:Direct experience managing the technical nuances of migrating data and processes from legacy systems (specifically Dynamics GP) into Business Central.
  • Problem-Solving & Grit:Proven ability to dive deep into a system, diagnose configuration or data conflicts, and build stable, automated workarounds.
  • Power Platform Integration:Proven experience utilizing Microsoft Power Automate to build custom cloud flows, bridge technical product gaps, and further enhance or extend Cavallo's native functionality.
  • Education:Bachelor's degree in Management Information Systems (MIS), Computer Science, Information Technology, Business Administration, or equivalent practical experience.
