What are Human Service Interns?

Human Service Interns are students or recent graduates who work under supervision in social service settings, such as community organizations, nonprofits, or government agencies. Their primary role is to gain practical experience by assisting professionals in helping individuals and families access resources, support, and care. Familiarity with case management software, documentation protocols, and confidentiality regulations like HIPAA is typically required. Strong interpersonal skills, empathy, and effective communication help interns build trust and rapport with clients and colleagues.
