What is a human resources temp?

A human resources temp job is a temporary replacement for a full-time human resources employee or a non-permanent position to complete tasks for a human resources project. A company hires temps as fill-in workers for employees who are on sick leave, on vacation, or involved in professional development workshops. Your responsibilities in this position vary, depending on the type of job in which you work. HR temps can fill out or update employee records and databases, recruit new workers for the company, explain benefits packages to employees and help them enroll in the program, and perform payroll duties.
