Overview PDS Defense, Inc. is seeking an experienced HRIS Project Specialist to support and enhance our HR systems while playing a key role in our transition to Workday. This role partners closely with HR, IT, Finance, and business stakeholders to ensure HR technology delivers measurable value and an exceptional employee experience. The ideal candidate brings strong technical HRIS expertise, project management capabilities, and a passion for process improvement in a fast-paced environment. Key Responsibilities
HRIS Maintenance & System Optimization (50%) * Maintain and optimize HR systems, including configuration, customization, upgrades, and ongoing system administration
  • Identify opportunities for HRIS/HRMS improvements and implement solutions aligned with business needs
  • Partner with HR, IT, and Data Privacy teams to develop workflows and automation
  • Ensure system compliance with federal/state regulations and data security standards
Serve as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) and liaison to HRIS vendors and service providersProject & Account Management (30%) Participate in Workday implementation initiatives (Compensation, Benefits, Absence, Time, Payroll, ServiceNow)
  • Gather business requirements and translate them into scalable HRIS solutions
  • Manage project timelines, priorities, and stakeholder expectations
  • Partner with Centers of Excellence (CoEs) on project planning and execution
  • Support system implementations, including security configuration and post-go-live optimization
Resolve user issues and recommend process improvementsSupport & Collaboration (20%) Develop and maintain HR documentation and reporting processes
  • Ensure consistent HRIS system usage across regions
  • Provide user support, troubleshooting, and system guidance
  • Manage system permissions, access, and user settings
Serve as a point of contact for HR teams, HRBPs, and employees regarding HR technology Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Business, Computer Science, Human Resources, or related field (or equivalent experience)
  • 5+ years of HRIS experience, including system implementations (Workday and/or Dayforce preferred)
  • 2+ years of experience in HR, administrative, or customer support environments
Strong understanding of HCM systems and HR processes Preferred Experience Hands-on experience with Workday HCM (Compensation, Time, Payroll) and/or Dayforce
  • Experience with Business Solver or similar platforms
Basic technical skills (e.g., scripting, HTML, Visual Basic) Key Skills & Competencies Strong HR functional and technical knowledge
