Data Integration Engineer - Healthcare Startup

Our client is a venture-backed company that has created a cutting-edge system designed to enhance the analysis and understanding of electronic medical records (EMRs). This system streamlines the review process of EMRs by automating manual tasks and is compatible with healthcare systems' existing computing environments or private clouds, ensuring data remains secure within the system. It intelligently screens and matches patient data to clinical criteria, significantly improving efficiency and accuracy in patient treatment options.

We are currently seeking a skilled Full Stack Engineer with a strong emphasis on back-end development to join our client's dynamic team. The successful candidate will have a unique opportunity to contribute to the development and optimization of this innovative system, playing a key role in its growth and impact on the healthcare industry.

We are on the lookout for a seasoned Engineer with a solid background in ETL, who will report directly to our VP of Engineering.

Key Responsibilities
  • Craft and execute robust ETL processes to enable smooth extraction, transformation, and loading of healthcare data into our Clients AI system.
  • Guarantee efficient and precise merging of varied data formats and structures.
  • Apply extensive understanding of healthcare information standards to ensure seamless system interoperability, including HL-7 and FHIR.
  • Work in tandem with cross-disciplinary client teams to maintain compliance with standard data exchange protocols.
  • Refine data workflows and integration methods to boost the efficiency and dependability of the AI system in various healthcare settings.
  • Diagnose and remedy integration issues to maintain uninterrupted data processing.
  • Enforce data validation and quality checks to uphold the accuracy and integrity of the healthcare data managed by the AI system.
Requirements
  • At least 5 years in data integration roles, specifically dealing with healthcare data.
  • Proficiency with FHIR and/or HL-7.
  • Deep knowledge of healthcare data exchange protocols and interoperability norms.
  • Acquaintance with a variety of healthcare data formats and structures.
  • Experience with both relational and non-relational databases.
  • Proficiency in ETL and data orchestration tools and platforms.
  • Skilled in developing Python-based solutions.
  • Strong problem-solving abilities and meticulous attention to detail.
  • Familiarity with Agile software development methodologies.
  • A degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related area.
Nice to Have
  • Experience with MongoDB.
  • Experience in healthcare technologies and ecosystems, such as Epic or Cerner.
