Job description

Seeking a healthcare startup entrepreneur with C-suite experience who has raised at least $1 MM in Venture Capital investment in the past. The candidate must be passionate about new technologies and solutions that can transform healthcare as we know it. This person will work closely with Clinical and Operational Leaders at Salinas Valley Health to construct a portfolio of the most promising startups ("Innovation Partners") with solutions that address the health system’s strategic priorities. This person will then negotiate win-win deals that capture a share of the upside being created in the Innovation Partner and accelerate the development and commercialization of those solutions to other health systems in the market.

Specific Duties
  • Meeting with senior leaders at Salinas Valley Health to understand areas of greatest strategic need and identify potential innovation partners.
  • Working with prinnovo senior management to structure win-win deals with the selected companies.
  • Creating and managing realistic development project plans for the co-creation of innovative solutions.
  • Participating in capital raising activities to further the development of the Innovation Partner’s business.
  • Developing marketing plans for the co-created solutions and attending relevant industry conferences and other networking events.
  • Meeting with senior leaders throughout Salinas Valley Health to identify and nurture potential referral sources.
  • Calling on senior management and innovation leaders at other health systems to increase interest in and awareness of the solutions being co-created.
  • Identifying and resolving issues that arise from all parties engaged in the co-creation, piloting, and validation process.
  • Educating health system employees on the potential value to be derived from Innovation Partnerships and serving as an internal entrepreneurial resource to evaluate potential innovation opportunities.
  • Facilitating discussions within the health system to accelerate the development and scaling of an Innovation Partners solution.
  • Investing capital into Innovation Partners to help grow their business, once the solution has been validated.
  • Coaching both health system employees and key Innovation Partner employees on strategies to increase the effectiveness of the relationship and accelerate development of innovative solutions.
  • Networking with and interacting with the entrepreneurial ecosystem in the region.
  • Assisting in the hiring, training and development of junior personnel.
Qualifications

4+ years of leadership position in a healthcare startup

Experience raising capital within a startup

B.S or B.A degree

Experience with financial modelling and business case development

Strong presentation development and presenting skills

Good listening skills and ability to identify and resolve issues

Strong attention to detail

The salary range for the role is $125,000 – $170,000 base, per year, plus bonus, benefits, and gain share.
