Reporting to the Group Chief Operating Officer and serving as a member of the US Bank Operating Committee, this individual will be the Bank's senior technology leader. The role is accountable for ensuring that all technology supporting the Bank is secure, resilient, compliant, cost-effective, and capable of supporting the Bank's strategic and customer objectives.
The Head of Technology will partner closely with Product, Operations, Risk, Compliance, Finance, Group Vendor Management, Moneycorp Shared Services (MSS), and external providers to develop the Bank's technology roadmap and ensure effective delivery and ongoing management of the technology stack.
Role Responsibilities:
Technology Strategy & Roadmap
  • Define and lead the US Bank technology strategy and roadmap, aligning technology priorities with business objectives, regulatory requirements, and Group technology direction in partnership with Product, Operations, MSS, and key stakeholders.
  • Translate business priorities into technology execution, driving investment decisions, delivery plans, and prioritization of initiatives across internal and external partners while balancing customer outcomes, risk, compliance obligations, cost, and delivery capacity.

Technology Operations & Service Performance
  • Serve as the primary technology stakeholder for US Bank service operations, accountable for monitoring availability, performance, stability, scalability, and operational effectiveness of technology services, and partnering with the central Technology function, MSS, and third-party providers to oversee incident, problem, change, release, and service continuity processes.
  • Drive operational resilience and service excellence, establishing and monitoring SLAs, SLOs, KPIs, KRIs, capacity, and customer-impact metrics; ensuring timely escalation, root-cause analysis, remediation, executive communications, and operational readiness for new products, system changes, vendor releases, integrations, and growth in customer or transaction volumes.

Shared Services & Vendor Management
  • Serve as the executive customer and primary relationship owner for MSS-delivered technology services, overseeing the Bank's technology ecosystem across SaaS platforms, core banking and payments providers, cloud solutions, managed service providers, and integration partners while aligning priorities, architecture, roadmaps, service levels, and business outcomes.
  • Lead strategic vendor and service-provider governance, driving executive service reviews and partnering with Vendor Management, Procurement, Risk, Compliance, and Legal to ensure contractual performance, regulatory compliance, operational resilience, security, due diligence, renewals, and transition planning.

Technology Financial Management
  • In partnership with the COO, oversee the US Bank technology budget, forecasts, and investment strategy, evaluating MSS allocations, vendor pricing, implementation and support costs, and business cases to ensure technology investments deliver measurable business, operational, and regulatory value while optimizing spend and maintaining appropriate levels of resilience, security, control, and service quality.

Technology Risk, Security & Operational Resilience
  • Provide oversight of technology risk, cybersecurity, and key control environments for US Bank, ensuring risks are effectively identified, managed, escalated, and reported through appropriate governance processes in partnership with Information Security, Risk, Compliance, and MSS.
  • Maintain oversight of third-party and technology ecosystem risks while ensuring business continuity, disaster recovery, incident response, and operational resilience capabilities are tested, evidenced, and continuously enhanced.

Regulatory, Audit & Governance
  • Provide technology governance and regulatory oversight, delivering clear reporting to executives, Board, and regulatory stakeholders; coordinating examination, audit, and remediation activities; and ensuring technology practices and outsourced services meet requirements for governance, cybersecurity, third-party risk, data management, operational resilience, and business continuity.
  • Advise executive management on technology strategy and performance, providing insight on emerging risks, material incidents, investment decisions, and key strategic trade-offs to support informed decision-making.

What We're Looking For:
Essential Knowledge, Skills & Experience:
  • 15+ years of progressive technology experience, including senior leadership roles in banking, fintech or financial services environments.
  • Significant experience managing a SaaS-based technology stack and critical outsourced or shared-service providers.
  • Demonstrated experience developing technology strategies and roadmaps, managing technology budgets and investment decisions, and leading vendor relationships through governance, performance management, commercial negotiations, and service delivery oversight.
  • Strong understanding of technology risk, cybersecurity, third-party risk management, business continuity, and operational resilience, with a proven ability to navigate regulatory examinations, audits, and remediation programs while effectively influencing and communicating with executive stakeholders.
  • Ability to work effectively with a global team and exercise a high level of resiliency.
