Job description


Position Description
Serve as a Technical Advisor for Butler Men's Soccer program, supporting the head coach and staff in the overall planning, organization, and execution of the team's sporting operations. This role provides strategic guidance across roster management, recruiting, player evaluation, performance analysis, staff workflow, and long-term program development.
Responsibilities
  • Oversee and support the program's roster-building strategy, including player identification, positional needs, recruiting priorities, transfer portal evaluation, and scholarship/resource allocation.
  • Assist the coaching staff with player evaluation through video analysis, statistical review, scouting reports, and performance data to help guide recruitment, development, and selection decisions.
  • Build and maintain recruiting databases, prospect tracking systems, and player profiles to improve organization and efficiency throughout the recruiting process.
  • Support opposition analysis and match preparation by identifying key tactical trends, individual player strengths and weaknesses, and set-piece opportunities.
  • Provide strategic input on team model, playing style, positional profiles, and long-term squad planning to ensure alignment between recruitment, development, and performance goals.
  • Collaborate with the head coach on program operations, including preseason planning, weekly workflows, staff responsibilities, matchday preparation, and post-match review processes.
  • Assist in building professional-level reporting structures for players, staff, and recruits, including player development plans, performance reviews, and recruiting presentations.
  • Support staff communication and decision-making by organizing key information into clear reports, dashboards, and presentations.
  • Help establish best practices for scouting, analytics, video, player development, and overall soccer operations within the program.
  • Serve as a strategic advisor to the head coach, providing an external professional perspective on program direction, roster construction, competitive benchmarks, and operational efficiency.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree
  • 1-3 years of coaching experience
  • The ability to work effectively with student athletes, colleagues and the campus community.
  • Understanding of the rules and regulations related to Butler University, the BIG EAST Conference and NCAA Division I
  • Outstanding verbal communication and leadership skills.
