Epting Events is a family business inspired by the distinct personality of the Southeast and we have stitched together a patchwork of friendly, professional, and creative individuals; among us are chefs, bartenders, gardeners, florists, musicians, painters, filmmakers, and historians. We are a team seeking someone with strong leadership skills and an intrinsic motivation to serve on our catering team.

Description of Position

The Head Waiter primarily leads servers and bussers at events to ensure a positive guest experience. As such, this person will interact with clients and be expected to reflect the hospitality, professionalism, and southern charm that is Epting Events. Alongside the Event Manager and warehouse team, they pull catering equipment ahead of time and load/unload vans. They work closely with our kitchen staff to know the food being served. Head Waiters see their events through from pull sheet to party clean up. Pay will be commensurate with experience.

Responsibilities and Tasks

  • Travel to events and lead a crew of servers and bussers
  • Work closely with the Executive Chef and in-house kitchen staff to ensure all food/serving equipment is taken to the events
  • Pull appropriate catering equipment ahead of events
  • Refer to cross departmental resources in warehouse/décor/sales/production/HR/kitchen/IT departments, reinforcing and promoting a strong team culture
  • Attend regular Epting Events training sessions to improve the client food experience
  • Report to the Event Managers
  • Represent the Epting brand in a manner that draws in new clients; a positive, professional demeanor is expected at all times
  • Be prepared to work primarily evenings and weekends
