Job description

Cleaning Specialist

This position is primarily based at the Dover-Eyota Elementary School but may provide support throughout the district as needed.

Schedule

School Year (Beginning August 3, 2026):

  • Evening Shift: 1:30 p.m. 10:00 p.m. or 3:00 p.m. 11:30 p.m.

Summer Schedule:

  • Day shift beginning between 6:007:00 a.m.
  • Flexible scheduling with 58 hour shifts or 410 hour shifts available.

Compensation & Benefits

  • Starting Wage: $21.00 per hour
  • Competitive benefits package

Responsibilities

As a Cleaning Specialist, you will help provide a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for students, staff, and visitors by:

  • Cleaning and maintaining classrooms, learning areas, hallways, gyms, restrooms, and other assigned spaces.
  • Sweeping, vacuuming, mopping, scrubbing, dusting, and emptying trash.
  • Setting up and taking down tables, chairs, and equipment for school and athletic events.
  • Cleaning and preparing cafeteria and lunch areas.
  • Assisting with summer projects, including deep cleaning, classroom preparation, painting, and other building maintenance as assigned by the Facilities Manager.
  • Performing light lifting and other custodial duties as needed.

Qualifications

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Ability to perform physical tasks, including light lifting and extended periods of standing, walking, bending, and cleaning.
  • Positive attitude and commitment to maintaining a safe and clean school environment.
