A rapidly growing third-party logistics (3PL) provider is seeking a driven and relationship-focused Freight Broker / Logistics Sales Executive to join its team in Northfield, Illinois. This role is ideal for someone with experience in freight brokerage, carrier sales, logistics coordination, or transportation sales who thrives in a fast-paced, high-energy environment and is motivated by unlimited earning potential.

Key Responsibilities

  • Build, manage, and grow a portfolio of shipper and carrier relationships
  • Prospect and develop new business opportunities through outbound sales efforts, networking, and lead generation
  • Negotiate competitive freight rates with carriers and customers to maximize profitability
  • Coordinate and manage freight brokerage operations including load booking, dispatching, tracking, and issue resolution
  • Develop customized transportation and supply chain solutions for customers across multiple industries
  • Maintain consistent communication with shippers, carriers, and internal operations teams to ensure successful freight movement
  • Monitor market conditions, pricing trends, and carrier capacity to provide strategic logistics solutions
  • Deliver exceptional customer service while maintaining high levels of account retention and satisfaction
  • Utilize CRM platforms, load boards, and transportation management systems (TMS) to manage daily operations and sales activity
  • Identify opportunities to expand existing accounts and increase freight volume

Qualifications

  • Experience in freight brokerage, logistics sales, transportation, carrier sales, or account management preferred
  • Strong communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills
  • Knowledge of FTL, LTL, carrier management, freight operations, and supply chain logistics is highly preferred
  • Proven ability to generate new business and manage customer relationships
  • Self-motivated with a strong sense of urgency and competitive drive
  • Ability to multitask and perform in a fast-paced, goal-oriented environment
  • Comfortable working with load boards, CRM systems, and logistics technology platforms
