American Modern Insurance Group has an opportunity for a Financial Systems Analyst to join our team. As the Financial Systems Analyst, you will support the transformation and maintenance of financial systems and processes within the Finance Department. The primary focus of this position is to enhance the effective usage of financial systems, streamline closing processes, and establish robust financial reporting solutions and cash management processes. The Financial Systems Analyst will collaborate with the Accounting Department to create and maintain seamless interfaces to downstream processes and identify improvement opportunities.
Additionally, the Financial Systems Analyst will support the implementation of business requirements into local and global IT systems, working closely with IT and Business departments at American Modern and partner organizations in the Munich Re Group.
We are looking for candidates who have an affinity for financial processes as well as business analytics experience.
What You'll Do:
  • Support and maintain financial systems processes during close activities and help to prepare and improve the closing activities.
  • Develop and maintain financial systems for Accounting, write change requests, and if necessary, serve as contact person for IT.
  • Guide accountants in the best practice execution of Accounting processes, develop and hold user training for systems in use or new systems in development, and develop user guides if appropriate.
  • Participate in project activities relating to key Accounting projects.
  • Help organize workshops to gather and collect business requirements or to design future solutions.
  • Support the Accounting Department on key corporate projects and promote appropriate data governance principles in Accounting projects.
  • Develop efficient reporting solutions to support analytical work in Accounting and help to set up reporting standards for the Accounting Department.

You may be a good fit, if you:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business.
  • At least one year of financial systems and technical process experience.
  • Strong analytical, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills.
  • Experience using Microsoft products and other data analytical tools or financial applications, such as Alteryx, Oracle Database, SQL, Power BI, Databricks, Oracle Fusion, Python, or similar programs.
  • Excellent written and verbal communications and presentation skills with the ability to effectively communicate with cross functional stakeholders. Knowledge of effective communication strategies and how to impact and influence others.
  • Strong Accounting knowledge ideally combined with insurance experience.
