The Biggs Group is seeking a Financial & Systems Analyst to support the organization's accounting, financial reporting, business systems, and operational training needs across property management, construction, and land development.

This position is ideal for an individual who combines strong financial analysis skills with business systems expertise and a passion for process improvement, internal controls, and user training. The successful candidate will serve as a key systems resource for Yardi, Buildertrend, Sage, and related platforms while providing financial reporting, analysis, and operational support.

The ideal candidate understands how transactions entered within operational systems ultimately impact financial reporting, job costing, property performance, budgets, and business results. This individual will work closely with Accounting, Property Management, Development, Construction, and Leadership teams to improve system utilization, strengthen data integrity, enhance reporting capabilities, and provide training and support to end users throughout the organization.

This role is intended to complement and support existing accounting and operational leadership by serving as both a financial analyst and systems subject matter expert.

  • Assist with preparation and analysis of financial and operational reports, dashboards, and performance metrics.
  • Perform variance analysis and identify trends, risks, and opportunities within financial and operational data.
  • Support budgeting, forecasting, cash flow reporting, and property performance analysis.
  • Assist leadership and department managers with ad hoc reporting and analytical requests.
  • Support property, project, and development-related financial reporting and decision-making.
Systems Administration & Training
  • Serve as a power user and subject matter expert for Yardi, Buildertrend, Sage, and other business systems.
  • Maintain a strong understanding of how operational transactions impact the general ledger and financial reporting.
  • Support system maintenance, upgrades, implementations, integrations, and troubleshooting efforts.
  • Partner with Operations in training Property Managers, Regional Managers, and other users on proper transaction processing, internal controls, and system utilization.
  • Develop system procedures, training materials, user guides, and best practices.
  • Partner with operational teams to promote consistent processes, accurate data entry, and effective system utilization.
Property Accounting & Financial Support
  • Support month-end and year-end accounting processes, reconciliations, and financial analyses.
  • Assist with preparation and distribution of recurring property-level financial reports, performance metrics, and financial review packages.
  • Assist Property Managers and Regional Managers in understanding and analyzing financial results.
  • Support monthly property financial review processes and reporting for ownership, lenders, and management.
  • Analyze operational activities and their impact on financial statements and property performance.
Internal Controls & Accounts Payable Support
  • Assist in maintaining and strengthening accounting and finance internal controls.
  • Monitor property management accounts payable processes to promote accurate coding, appropriate approvals, consistency, and timely processing.
  • Review coding, approvals, and supporting documentation for compliance with company policies and procedures.
  • Identify control weaknesses, transaction errors, and opportunities for process improvement.
  • Support documentation of accounting procedures, workflows, and internal controls.
  • Partner with Accounting and Property Management teams to improve transaction accuracy and compliance.
Process Improvement & Automation
  • Identify opportunities to improve efficiency through technology, automation, and process redesign.
  • Assist in standardizing reporting, workflows, and operational procedures.
  • Support the development of reporting tools, dashboards, and automated solutions.
  • Help improve organizational visibility, accountability, and consistency through better use of systems and data.
  • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives and special projects across the organization.
RequirementsRequired
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, Information Systems, or related field.
  • 4+ years of experience in accounting, financial analysis, property management operations, business systems, or related experience.
  • Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting.
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Excellent communication and training skills.
  • Work Location: This is a hybrid, onsite role based between our Corporate Office at Ideal Builders in Decatur and our Corporate Office at Electric Works in Fort Wayne. The successful candidate must be able to travel regularly between both locations as an essential function of the position.
