Overview
The System Analysis Accountant works in a highly computerized environment and is responsible for the review and testing of financial systems software; monthly and annual financial data analyses; preparation and maintenance of the annual budget and related data that is required for the submission of Medicare and Medicaid annual cost reports, reimbursement analyses, and federal, state and local tax returns. The Accountant is constantly assessing the theoretical integrity of accounting functions in the accounting department.
What you will do
  • Review and test financial systems software
  • Perform monthly and annual financial data analysis
  • Preparation and maintenance of the annual budget and the related data that is required for submission of Medicare and Medicaid annual cost reports
  • Review and perform reimbursement analysis
  • Review and prepare federal, state, and local tax returns
  • Interpret and communicate federal and state regulations and assess the theoretical integrity of the accounting functions
  • Serve as a liaison with regulatory and taxing agencies, external consultants, auditors, leadership and other departments within the Health System

Qualifications
Education
  • Bachelors Degree, Accounting or Business Administration, with a minor in Computer Science/IT (Required)
  • Masters Degree, (Preferred)

Experience
  • 2 years experience in Accounting, with Computer Science/IT minor (Required)
  • 2 years working as an Accountant with database design, software design and specification, and programming (Basic, SQL, C++, Visual Basic) experience in lieu of Computer Science/IT minor (Required)

Licenses and Certifications
  • Certified Public Accountant (CPA) - The AICPA (Preferred)
