Field Service Manager

SISSCO Material Handling, a leader in overhead crane and hoist sales and service, is seeking an experienced Field Service Manager to lead and support our growing Field Service Department.

This role is critical to driving operational excellence, improving coordination and efficiency, and ensuring outstanding service delivery to our customers. The Field Service Manager will provide leadership to both internal service staff and a large team of field technicians while working closely with customers, sales, and accounting.


About the Role

The Field Service Department performs inspections, maintenance, and repairs on overhead cranes, hoists, vehicle lifts, and other industrial material handling equipment. The Field Service Manager will oversee daily operations, service sales, scheduling, and customer communication while fostering a high-performing, safety-focused service team.

This role will also lead initiatives focused on improving operational efficiency, standardizing processes, and driving service sales growth through enhanced customer engagement, cross-functional collaboration, and continuous improvement efforts.


Key Responsibilities

  • Provide leadership and management to internal service support staff and 20+ Field Service Technicians
  • Support and guide internal Service Supervisors through job setup, scheduling, technician preparation, problem resolution, and job closeout
  • Oversee service sales and quotation activities through the company CRM system
  • Communicate with new and existing customers to identify needs, recommend solutions, and resolve open issues
  • Maintain consistent communication with Field Technicians to support scope-of-work questions and technical challenges
  • Assist Service Supervisors with daily post-job reviews to assess work completed and identify improvement opportunities
  • Coordinate customer follow-ups for incomplete work, corrective actions, or future service opportunities
  • Collaborate with Sales and Marketing to identify new customers, markets, and service opportunities
  • Oversee job closeout processes and work closely with the Accounting Department to continuously improve service invoicing efficiency
  • Develop and maintain the technical knowledge necessary to support customers and internal staff


Basic Qualifications

  • 5โ€“10+ years of experience in Field Service Management or a related leadership role
  • 5โ€“10+ years of experience using business computer systems, including Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook) and CRM platforms such as Microsoft Dynamics or Salesforce
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills for customer interaction and team coordination
  • Ability to perform effectively in a fast-paced, operational environment

Although designing, manufacturing and servicing of Overhead Cranes and Hoists is where it all started, we have complemented this sector of our business with a full Engineering and Project Management Division, Controls & Automation Division, Modernizations Division and Mechanical Contracting Division.
