Job description

GovCIO is currently hiring for Video Game Designer/Simulation Producer to lead the narrative and experiential design of advanced immersive simulation environments, ensuring all technical, visual, and AI-driven elements align into a unified training experience. This role bridges storytelling, production, and systems integration to create compelling, high-impact simulations that support learning, engagement, and stakeholder buy-in. This position will be located in Colorado Springs, CO and will be a onsite position.
Responsibilities
Serves as the central integrator of narrative, technical, and experiential design for large-scale immersive simulation environments. This role ensures that storyline, AI systems, visual media, and operational training elements are seamlessly unified into a cohesive, high-fidelity experience that supports cadet learning and mission-driven objectives.
  • Act as the primary "vision synchronizer" to align narrative, gameplay, AI behavior, audiovisual systems, and physical/digital environments into a unified immersive experience.
  • Develop high-quality strategic communication materials, including pitch decks, concept visuals, "slicksheets," and vertical slice demonstrations to support program validation and stakeholder buy-in.
  • Direct in-simulation narrative pacing through the integration of dynamic media elements such as intelligence briefings, breaking news injects, and command-and-control updates.
  • Translate complex technical, operational, and military concepts into compelling visual and experiential storytelling frameworks.
  • Collaborate across engineering, simulation, design, and operational teams to ensure coherence between technical systems and creative intent.
  • Support executive engagement, funding presentations, and external communication strategies for program initiatives

Qualifications
Bachelor's with 12+ years (or commensurate experience)
Required Skills and Experience
  • Clearance Required: None
  • Position requires U.S. Citizenship due to the nature of the role.
  • Demonstrated ability to integrate narrative, technical systems, and experiential design into cohesive immersive environments.
  • Experience producing high-fidelity strategic communication materials, including pitch decks, concept videos, and visual storytelling assets.
  • Ability to translate complex technical or military concepts into accessible and compelling visual narratives.
  • Experience working across multidisciplinary teams including engineering, design, and operational stakeholders.
  • Strong background in game production, simulation design, or immersive media development.

Preferred Skills and Experience
  • Experience as a Game Producer, Executive Producer, or Narrative Director on a shipped commercial AAA or large-scale immersive project.
  • Proven track record of securing executive approval, investment, or funding through high-quality pitch materials or concept demonstrations.
  • Background in live event production, esports broadcasting, or large-scale military simulation/exercise production (e.g., White Cell or Exercise Director roles).
  • Experience in defense, military training, or simulation environments involving live-virtual-constructive (LVC) systems.
  • Strong portfolio demonstrating narrative design, production leadership, and cross-disciplinary creative direction.
  • Bachelor's degree preferred or equivalent demonstrable experience in digital media production, game production, or strategic communications.
