About the Roleย 
Key Accountabilities & Responsibilities
Support corporate profitability, customer growth, and satisfaction by collaborating with Capacity Development to source sustainable carrier capacity to meet or exceed customer expectations:

  • Support customer growth and satisfaction by utilizing high-quality carrier capacity to cover loads and meet or exceed customer expectations.
  • Demonstrate self-sufficiency in managing workload, consistently making decisions, and taking action that results in achieving company growth goals.
  • Begins to consistently drive decision-making and participates in problem solving activities that results in achieving team and company goals with little reliance on team members and manager.
  • Maximize individual, department, and company profitability by purchasing transportation at competitive market pricing, while maintaining service levels.
  • Collaborate with Capacity Development team to identify carriers and lanes needing attention, develop and increase capacity utilization, improve service, and pricing for customer opportunities, ensuring every customer always has the service and capacity needed to drive customer satisfaction and increase load count, revenue, and margin.
  • In collaboration with Capacity Development, identifies, leverages & builds operational relationships with carriers to ensure consistent capacity, pricing, and service to customers, keeping Carrier Relationship Management tools accurate and up to date.
  • Deliver excellent customer service by ensuring adherence to company, customer, and industry policies and best practices.
  • To maximize customer and carrier satisfaction, demonstrate proactive and effective communication to ensure internal and external customers and carriers are aware of changes and issues before or as they happen, escalating to OEM where necessary.
  • Collaborate with Business Development and Customer Experience to secure new opportunities and win new customers for Tucker.
  • Learn, adopt, and leverage new technologies to cover more loads, more quickly and drive productivity.

Cultivate mentorships across all team members through ongoing training and development initiatives:

  • Leads by example to support team member assimilation in understanding Tucker core values, processes and procedures, and foundational freight brokerage skills, to maximize service continuity.
The Market & Tools
  • Market Tuckerโ€™s carrier-facing tools to carriers and gather feedback to keep Tucker positioned as a โ€œbroker of choiceโ€ for carriers.
  • Share anecdotal evidence of market conditions with teammates to enable the team win new or protect existing business.

Qualifications and Education Requirements

  • High school diploma or minimum 3 years of equivalent industry training or experience
  • 2+ years' experience in freight brokerage, 3PL, transportation, or supply chain industry
  • Strong communication skills
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Proficient in MS Office

Preferred Skills

  • Bachelorโ€™s Degree
  • Customer Service Experience a plus
  • Certified Transportation Broker (CTB) certificate
  • Ability to use and learn new software and technologies
  • Enthusiasm to negotiate service and pricing in a live environment

Additional Notes

  • Position requires a demonstrated ability to resolve time-sensitive situations, multi-task, make recommendations to management, effectively communicate verbally and in writing, and navigate a high-paced working environment.
  • This position is part of a compensated departmental on-call rotation where some scheduled after hours and weekend support is required.
Compensation & Benefits
  • The anticipated base salary range for this role is $46,400 โ€“ $69,600 per year. Final compensation offered by Tucker Company Worldwide, Inc. will be determined at the time of offer.
