POSITION SUMMARY- Capacity Planning Analyst
The Capacity Planning Analyst is responsible for analyzing projected demand, inventory, through-put and overall capacity across all departments within the distribution center to ensure efficient workflow, productivity, and service performance. This role partners closely with Operations, Inventory Control, Transportation, and Leadership teams to forecast workload demands, optimize staffing plans, and support continuous improvement initiatives across the warehouse operation.
The analyst uses data-driven decision-making to balance customer demand, labor utilization, throughput, and operational efficiency while maintaining safety and quality standards.
FUNCTIONS OF THE JOB:
·  Develop daily, weekly and seasonal warehouse throughput requirements based on projected inbound and outbound demands.
·  Develop weekly and seasonal storage requirements versus capacity across both active and reserve locations within the warehouse.
·  Plan warehouse slotting for all programs well in advance of goods arriving to the warehouse to allow for efficient warehouse through-put.
·  Identify operational bottlenecks and recommend solutions to improve efficiency.
·  Generate operational reports and dashboards related to productivity, labor utilization, service levels, and capacity metrics.
·  Track KPIs including:
  1. Units processed per hour
  2. Labor productivity
  3. Dock turnaround time
  4. Overtime utilization
  5. Storage utilization
  6. Order throughput
·  Collaborate with Operations Managers and Supervisors to align staffing with workload demands.
·  Create inventory flow and space utilization plans for unique programs.
·  Monitor system-generated workload forecasts and adjust plans as needed.
·  Ensure planning practices support OSHA compliance and safe operational workflows.

POSITION QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:
Education/Experience:
·  Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, Business Analytics, Industrial Engineering, or related field preferred.
·  2–5 years of experience in distribution center operations, labor planning, logistics analysis, or supply chain analytics preferred.
·  Experience in retail, apparel, or consumer goods distribution preferred.
Skills and Abilities which may be representative but not all inclusive of those commonly associated with this position:
·  Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
·  Advanced Excel skills required (Pivot Tables, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, formulas, data analysis).
·  Experience with Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) preferred.
·  Knowledge of labor management systems and forecasting tools preferred.
·  Strong communication and presentation skills.
·  Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
·  Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills.
