Position Description
Position Overview
Park Construction Company is seeking a Business Development Manager to identify and advance strategic business opportunities that support the company's long-term growth. This position will build executive-level relationships with owners, developers, engineers, public agencies, general contractors, and key industry partners to generate negotiated, alternative delivery, and best-value project opportunities.
Reporting to the Vice President of Estimating & Pursuit, the Business Development Manager will serve as a link between the marketplace and Park Construction's operating groups, leading market intelligence, client development, and pursuit coordination.
Key Responsibilities
  • Identify and pursue new opportunities in private, industrial, energy, power/generation, mission critical, transportation, rail, and infrastructure markets.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with owners, developers, engineers, architects, consultants, general contractors, and other key decision-makers.
  • Generate qualified project opportunities and position Park Construction early in project development cycles.
  • Gather and communicate market intelligence regarding competitors, pricing trends, procurement strategies, capital programs, and emerging opportunities.
  • Conduct client visits and strengthen long-term client relationships.
  • Coordinate pursuit planning, proposal strategy, interviews, and client presentations.
  • Maintain CRM records, opportunity pipelines, forecasting, and business development reporting.
  • Represent Park Construction at industry events, conferences, association meetings, and networking functions.
  • Promote Park Construction's Core Values of Build People First, Build It Right, Build Up Trust, and Build It Together.

Work Arrangement
This position includes a combination of in-person and hybrid work responsibilities and requires regular travel throughout Park Construction's operating regions.
Compensation & Benefits
  • Salary range: $90,000-$115,000 annually

Position Requirements
Required Qualifications
  • 7+ years of progressively responsible experience in business development, construction management, engineering, industrial services, project management, or a related field.
  • Demonstrated success generating qualified business opportunities and developing executive-level client relationships.
  • Strong understanding of construction project delivery methods and business development practices.
  • Strong communication, presentation, relationship-building, negotiation, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and take initiative in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability and willingness to travel throughout Park Construction's operating regions.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience in heavy civil, commercial, industrial, transportation, infrastructure, energy, or mission critical construction markets.
  • Knowledge of general contractors and construction industry relationships within the region.
  • Experience using CRM and business development reporting systems.
  • Existing relationships within markets aligned with Park Construction's strategic growth objectives.
