In this fast-paced, high-energy environment where great guest service and attention to detail is essential, how do we ensure all of our events and convention guests are happy with our service? As an Events Manager, you will have a genuine passion for guest service, top-notch organizational skills, strong relationship building skills, and the ability to work well in a team. While carrying out the job duties listed below, you will contribute to our continued success by demonstrating unsurpassed guest service, a high level of integrity and ethical standards, and personal and professional dedication to our mission, vision, and values.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities
  1. *Carry out managerial responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include but are not limited to interviewing, training; and motivating team members; planning, assigning, and directing work; addressing complaints; and resolving problems.
  2. *Oversee and manage the Events team and work closely with the Banquet team to ensure all event related details and needs are met for the successful execution of catering events.
  3. *Oversee, confirm, and follow up on billing procedures to ensure deposits, payments, and/or credit applications are received within acceptable timeframes.
  4. *Assist leadership in developing budget, operating within established budgetary guidelines, evaluating financial reports, and adjusting operations as needed to achieve financial goals.
  5. *Maximize food and beverage minimums to meet catering revenue goals. Consistently pursue up-selling opportunities to maximize revenue potential.
  6. *Achieve business development goals by maintaining excellent client relationships.
  7. *Advise and implement changes to catering operations based on sales and client comments.
  8. *Ensure effective communication of client needs from catering to appropriate operational departments.
  9. *Ensure the highest level of guest service is achieved and maintained and assist in providing timely, positive resolution to guest issues and concerns.
  10. *Ensure guest experience satisfaction by personally interacting with guests, by introducing guests to the Events team, and by consistently offering professional, friendly, and engaging service.
  11. *Execute programs which improve guest service, team building, team efficiency, and team member morale.
  12. *Conduct routine inspections of Events operations to maintain standards per Potawatomi Casino Hotel (PCH), local, state, and federal regulations.
  13. Establish, update, and ensure full compliance with departmental Internal Controls, policies, procedures, and regulations.
  14. Perform other duties as assigned.

Job Qualifications
  1. A high school diploma or equivalent and 2 years of related experience are required. An Associate's degree can take the place of 1 year of experience.
  2. Office skills must include the ability to use standard office equipment and general knowledge of Microsoft Office.
  3. The ability to maintain discretion in handling confidential information.
  4. The ability to use strong organization skills and attention to detail to accurately handle multiple job duties and projects in a fast-paced environment.
  5. The ability to successfully manage conflict and diffuse situations.
  6. The ability to interact with guests and team members at all levels of the organization professionally, including the ability to speak in front of small groups.
  7. The ability to work irregular hours and extended shifts including late nights, early mornings, weekends, and holidays.
  8. While performing the duties of this job, the team member is required to talk, hear, stand, sit, walk, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, and move freely throughout the office and property for duration of scheduled shift. The team member is frequently required to use hands to handle or feel objects, tools, or controls, and reach with hands and arms. The team member must be able to operate a personal computer. The team member is required to lift, carry, push, pull, or move objects up to 10 pounds on a regular basis and up to 25 pounds occasionally. Team member must wear all required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) while performing job duties. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.

Working Conditions
The noise level is usually moderate to loud. When on the casino floor, the noise level increases. The facility is not smoke free.
