Class: Full-Time

Summary:

The Event Security Manager will be responsible for the administration of event security operations for Fiserv Forum and the Deer District. This individual will also provide oversight and direction to event security supervisors and staff; coordinate all activities of Plaza and Event Security staff; train, supervise and provide performance feedback including recommending areas of improvement when vital; monitor guest activity and assist with maintaining order and ensuring adherence to safety and security standards during events at Fiserv Forum and the Deer District.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supervise the performance, conduct and attendance of security staff and supervisors assigned to the event security. Responsible for the quality of the performance, conduct efficiency of the entire event security team.
  • Develop, implement, and maintain Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and security initiatives.
  • Build and maintain business relationships with team members and facility partners including local, state, & federal fire & police authorities through trainings and meetings.
  • Schedule medical, police, K9 and other local emergency management departments deemed necessary for all Fiserv Forum and Deer District events.
  • Interview, hire and train event security staff and supervisors assigned to the events. Conduct performance appraisals of staff and supervisors and handles disciplinary actions as required.
  • Develop and conduct security & safety training sessions for event security personnel.
  • Complete special projects and other assigned tasks within the guidelines and deadlines set by the Event Security Director.
  • Communicate and plan with the Event Security Director and Event Services Manager to understand expectations of a successfully secured event, pre and post event.
  • Establish facility needs based on Milwaukee Bucks and other tenant expectations, staff and coordinate needs to internal department and outside agencies and vendors.
  • Lead all aspects of credentials and proxy access for events; ensures the quality and accuracy of all logs and incident reports generated during events; and builds and implements post orders for the event security team.
  • Assist security management team with event staff equipment and maintain a program for assigning and tracking all equipment assigned to event staff.
  • Maintain records and photos of all incidents that involve any events at Fiserv Forum and site.
  • Act as a liaison with local law enforcement, client representatives, talent/sports team security and outside agencies.
  • Work with Guest Experiences management staff to ensure coordinated teamwork between Security and Guest Services.
  • Collaborate with internal departments and external clients to minimize expense and enhance budgeted results while operating efficiency.
  • Assist in the administrative documentation including reports, disciplinary notes, logging entries and assist in the creation of department budget and strategic plans.
  • Work closely with the Scheduling Department to fulfill the security staffing requirements for all Fiserv Forum events.
  • Account for and take ownership management of hourly security event staff scheduling and hours.
  • Respond to emergencies and work to deescalate urgent matters.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree
  • Availability to work evenings, weekends and occasional holidays
  • NCS4, IAVM, ASIS certifications are a plus.
  • Prior experience working with the public, preferably in a hospitality-related or customer care environment.
  • Up to date and in sync with industry standards and applicable laws.
  • Ability to work extended hours including nights, weekends, on-call status, and holidays as necessary.
  • Ability to speak and present to large groups or members of the organization.
  • Ability to write reports and correspond in a professional manner.
  • Read, comprehend, and edit safety documents, maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Familiarity with CEIA magnetometers and Rapiscan x ray equipment is a plus!
  • Understand, operate, and train others on magnetometer operations.
  • Basic knowledge of personal computers and peripherals, word processing and spreadsheet software, e-mail, and the Internet.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite programs (Excel, Access, and Outlook) and a solid understanding of payroll systems. Experience using ABI scheduling software is a plus.
