The University of Utah's David Eccles School of Business Professional and Online MBA Programs are seeking a dependable, service-oriented part-time Office & Classroom Support Assistant to support daily program operations, events, and evening MBA courses.
This year-round position offers a current University of Utah student the opportunity to gain hands-on experience in office administration, event support, and classroom technology within a fast-paced, customer-focused academic environment. Priority will be given to candidates who are available to work over the summer. The role works closely with program staff and faculty to ensure a seamless and professional experience for students, instructors, and guests.
This role offers students a valuable opportunity to gain professional experience in a dynamic, customer-oriented environment while supporting administrative tasks.
Responsibilities
  • Provide comprehensive program support, including front desk coverage, general office duties, inventory management, mail distribution, and assistance with administrative tasks, special projects, and process testing.
  • Support the planning and execution of events for prospective students, current students, and alumni by preparing materials, coordinating activities, assisting with event operations, setup and takedown, and contributing to post-event debriefs.
  • Create, maintain, and organize course directories, program materials, and related documentation.
  • Deliver hands-on classroom and technical support for evening MBAcourses, including setting up, monitoring, and troubleshooting classroom technology such as Zoom, microphones, projectors, and presentation systems.
  • Serve as the primary in-class point of contact for faculty to ensure smooth class delivery and collaborate with program staff to address classroom and technology needs.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Must be a current University of Utah student.
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • A passion for hospitality and events, with a commitment to delivering exceptional customer service to students, faculty, and staff.
  • Detail-oriented, efficient, self-reliant, and a team player who thrives in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to work effectively under pressure and independently with minimal supervision.
  • Proven ability to work well in a team setting and communicate effectively.
  • Professional phone etiquette and excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Professional attire is required.
  • Ability to lift, carry, and move up to 20 lbs. and stand for extended periods in preparation for events
