Job description

Title: Entry Level Project Scheduler
Description:
The Project Scheduler will perform their duties and responsibilities in support of the companyโ€™s mission in creating schedules for pre bids, newly awarded project baselines, and ongoing construction projects. A profusely motivated individual with good technical, organization, and communication skills will assist with integrity to deliver superior service. Training will be provided to assist in the growth of the entry level Project Scheduler.
Job Functions:
  • Assist in the development of pre bid schedules.
  • Assist in the creation of baseline schedules through analyzing project drawings and specifications to identify specific work activities, durations, and sequencing.
  • Assist in the creation and maintenance of a companywide schedule to generate a resource and equipment timeline.
  • Assist in the creation of โ€œwhat-ifโ€ and recovery schedules.
  • Update project schedules with weekly or monthly activity progress through communication with project teams and meet deadlines.
  • Compare schedule updates with baseline and report variances.
  • Participate in regular project team meetings across multiple projects.
  • Prepare reports for management and client review including Gantt charts, earned value reports, cost graphs, and resource graphs.
  • Incorporate cost and resource data into schedules and spreadsheets according to project management team.
  • Produce cash flow graphs, monitor project costs, manpower and review trends.
  • Participate in schedule review meetings with project teams, estimating staff, and clients; maintain meeting minutes.
  • Assist with change management, claims and TIAโ€™s.
  • Maintain a master log for change orders, RFIโ€™s, and conflicts within projects.
General and Technical Competency:
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Excel and Word primarily)
  • Local travel may be required for quantity tracking, meetings, or on-site safety training.
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Experience with scheduling software such as Primavera P6 or Microsoft Project
  • ย Ability to work in a team environment or independently on multiple projects at the same time.
  • Ability to understand construction plans and specifications.
  • Knowledge of general construction requirements
  • Desire to learn how to use P6 schedules as an effective project management tool.
  • Ability to travel to job sites. A valid driverโ€™s license is required.
  • Plans available time to efficiently complete assigned tasks.
  • Is dependable, meets deadlines and produces high-quality work.
  • Is receptive to constructive feedback and adjusts work behavior based on feedback.
  • Is responsive to inquiries and assignments in a timely manner.
Experience/ Education:
  • Bachelorโ€™s degree in engineering, Architecture or Construction Management.
  • Requires strong computer skills to include Microsoft Excel and database applications.
  • An understanding of critical path methodology to ensure, and communicate, timely delivery of milestone tasks.
  • Ability to work under pressure (timelines and deadlines) when required.
