Job Summary
The Grounds Project Lead supports campus grounds operations by coordinating landscape, irrigation, site improvement, and grounds maintenance projects ranging from approximately $500 to $500,000. This role serves as an entry-level project manager responsible for overseeing multiple projects, coordinating vendors and contractors, tracking budgets and schedules, and ensuring projects are completed safely, on time, and within budget.
The ideal candidate is organized, customer-focused, and eager to grow a career in landscape, horticulture, facilities, or project management.
Key Responsibilities
  • Manage 5-25 concurrent grounds and site improvement projects.
  • Coordinate landscape, irrigation, concrete flatwork, paver, asphalt, and campus beautification projects.
  • Assist with project planning, budgeting, estimating, and scheduling.
  • Procure materials and coordinate vendors, contractors, and internal teams.
  • Track project progress and deliverables using Monday.com.
  • Conduct site visits and monitor quality, safety, and project performance.
  • Communicate project updates with campus stakeholders and customers.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives within grounds operations.

Required Qualifications
  • Knowledge of landscaping, grounds maintenance, irrigation systems, or site construction.
  • Strong organizational, communication, and customer service skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office.
  • Valid driver's license.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience in landscaping, irrigation, grounds maintenance, facilities, or construction project coordination.
  • Bachelor's degree in Horticulture, Landscape Architecture, Landscape Management, Turfgrass Management, Construction Management, or a related field.
  • Knowledge of irrigation systems, concrete flatwork, pavers, and asphalt projects.
  • Experience with Monday.com, CMMS systems, or similar project management software.
  • Texas A&M or other university horticulture and landscape architecture graduates are encouraged to apply.
