Description
The Ecommerce Associate is proficient in all areas of our ecommerce operation. This includes identifying items to be listed, photographing items, listing items for sale on various Ecommerce platforms, through product fulfillment. This position requires someone who is highly organized, detail-oriented, and can multitask effectively in a fast-paced environment.
Essential Functions:
  1. Use of computers and various software.
  2. Use of smart phones, barcode readers and other necessary equipment for taking photos, and scanning barcodes.
  3. Use of shipping equipment including but not limited to Cubiscan, Packsize box machine, and paper shredder.

Primary Responsibilities:
  1. Support the mission and vision of Goodwill Industries of Northern Michigan.
  2. Perform work in a safe manner by observing all Goodwill Northern Michigan safety policies and procedures.
  3. Interact with all Goodwill Northern Michigan team members, clients, and customers in a professional manner.
  4. Respect the diversity of others, including but not limited to, those with cultural, ethnic, and gender differences, individuals experiencing homelessness, and persons with visible and non-visible disabilities.
  5. Maintain Ecommerce productivity goals in the following areas.
  6. Sort and receive incoming saleable items accurately, discarding prohibited items.
  7. Test functionality of certain items, particularly electronics.
  8. Authenticate items as needed.
  9. Photograph items in an aesthetic manner for use in online listings.
  10. Accurately describe items in written format to list items for sale on various eCommerce platforms.
  11. Shelve and pull items from inventory.
  12. Accurately pack and ship sold items.
  13. Respond to customer inquiries and resolve issues in a timely and professional manner.
  14. Ensure a clean and organized work area.
  15. Maintain a high degree of professionalism in written and verbal communications with customers, and business associates.
  16. Assist in development and execution of training for retail/salvage staff to identify items appropriate for Ecommerce sale.
  17. Practice and be a role model for all loss prevention and safety rules.
  18. Report all questionable activity or concerns regarding these policies to supervisor.
  19. Use of computer and programs required to conduct business.
  20. Perform other duties as assigned by management.
  21. Other duties as assigned by manager.

Requirements
Education, Licenses, Certifications and Experience:
  1. High school graduate or GED required.
  2. Previous Ecommerce listing experience is desirable.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
  1. Ability to communicate effectively with peers, management, customers, and people with disabilities.
  2. Ability to develop strong computer skills with a good working knowledge of the Internet and Microsoft Office - Outlook, Word, Excel.
  3. Ability to develop a working knowledge of e-commerce software.
  4. Attention to detail.
  5. Ability to read, count and write to accurately complete all transactions and documentation.
  6. Ability to operate and use all necessary equipment.
  7. Self-directed with the ability to work independently as well as alongside a team.
  8. Excellent organizational skills.
  9. Ability to work varied hours and days as business dictates, which may include weekends and holidays.

Physical Requirements:
  1. Works in an environment with occasional high stress, and short deadlines, occasionally requiring overtime.
  2. Sits stands and walks for most of the work day.
  3. Routinely bends, stoops, pushes, pulls, reaches, kneels, twists, turns throughout the day
  4. Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
  5. May be required to exert 150 - 300 pounds of force.
  6. Operate pallet jack.
  7. Ability to see and identify colors and shades.
