Job description

  • Training & development

The Opportunity
Xpress Distributors is a full-service beverage distributor based in Tampa, FL. We deliver a growing portfolio of beverage brands directly to convenience stores, independent grocery, and foodservice accounts across our territory. As part of a larger family of beverage and CPG companies, we move fast, operate lean, and give every team member direct access to ownership and the decisions that shape the business.
We are hiring a DSD Sales Manager to own and grow our entire DSD sales operation. This is not a role for someone looking to maintain the status quo. You will build route structures, develop a team, open new accounts, and scale the operation as our brand portfolio grows. You will report directly to ownership and have a clear path to senior leadership as Xpress expands.
If you have deep DSD experience, know how to build a route book, and are ready to lead a sales function from the ground up, we want to talk.
What You'll Do
  • Own and grow the DSD sales operation for Xpress Distributors
  • Build, manage, and optimize route structures for maximum density and profitability
  • Hire, train, and develop a team of Route Sales Representatives
  • Set weekly, monthly, and annual sales targets per route and per rep
  • Manage P&L by route, including labor, fuel, gross margin, and operating expenses
  • Open new accounts in priority territories across convenience, independent grocery, and foodservice
  • Build and execute a territory expansion plan as the brand portfolio grows
  • Coordinate with brand suppliers on new product launches, promotions, and POG execution
  • Monitor competitor activity, route economics, and account-level performance
  • Report directly to ownership on KPIs, account growth, and team performance
What We're Looking For
  • 7 to 10 or more years of DSD experience, ideally in beverage
  • Direct experience at a major beverage distributor (Coca-Cola, Pepsi, Red Bull, Monster, Anheuser-Busch, Reyes Beverage Group) or a strong regional DSD operation
  • Proven track record of managing route sales reps and growing account bases
  • Deep understanding of route economics, density planning, and cold box and shelf merchandising
  • Strong relationships with convenience, grocery, and independent retail buyers in the Southeast
  • Experience opening new accounts at scale
  • Comfortable with data: weekly sales reports, scan data, route profitability analysis
  • Valid driver's license and clean driving record
Bonus Qualifications
  • Existing relationships with retail accounts in the Tampa metro and broader Florida market
  • Experience launching new beverage brands through DSD
  • Bilingual English and Spanish
Compensation and Benefits
  • Base salary: $75,000 to $95,000 based on experience
  • Performance bonus tied to account growth, route profitability, and new business
  • Direct exposure to ownership and a clear path to senior leadership as Xpress scales
  • Opportunity to build and lead the DSD sales function for a growing full-service beverage distributor
