Job description

West Side Beer Distributing is seeking a CDL-A Delivery Driver for beverage deliveries in the Lansing area.

Location: Lansing, MI
Schedule: Tuesday - Friday | 5:00am - 3:00pm or until route is complete
Salary: $55,000-$65,000 annually. (base + commissions)
Reports To: Fleet Manager
FLSA Status: Non-Exempt

POSITION SUMMARY:
Delivering products to retailers in a safe and efficient manner while representing the company in a professional manner. This individual must be customer service oriented and demonstrate excellent communication skills. Additional duties will consist of product quality, inventory accuracy, invoicing, payment collection and merchandising. Responsible for adhering to company policies, procedures, DOT regulations, MLCC guidelines and supplier agreements.

  • Obey traffic laws, and follow established traffic and transportation procedures.
  • Answer customers' questions about products, prices, availability and product uses.
  • Handles product in a safe manner using proper lifting techniques and ensure minimal product damage.
  • Conduct and submit pre-trip and post trip vehicle inspections for fuel, oil, water, tires, lights, and brakes, to ensure that vehicles are in proper working condition.
  • Maintain customer records.
  • Report any mechanical problems encountered with vehicles to the Fleet Manager.
  • Present invoices and collect payments for products delivered or picked up.
  • Verify truck inventory against load out sheet.
  • Turn in receipts and money received from deliveries.
  • Inform customers of delivery schedules, service, and other information pertaining to products.
  • Attend company meetings and route sales meetings as required.
  • Check inventory levels, rotation and monitor product quality according to company and supplier standards.
  • Complete daily paperwork such as product quality sheets, sequence list and other required paperwork.
  • Complete all product and development training as required.
  • Know and understand all competitive pricing and products.
  • Maintain positive customer relations.

SKILLS amp; ABILITIES:
Education: High School Graduate or General Education Degree (GED)
Experience: One to two years CDL driving experience
Computer Skills: Must be proficient in handheld computer equipment.
Certificates amp; Licenses: Valid CDL-A License and DOT Physical.
Other Requirements: Must pass physical, drug screen, background check and motor vehicle report must meet insurance company guidelines.

Outside delivery driver servicing retail accounts; working in refrigerated coolers
