As Marqeta's Director, Go-To-Market Strategy & Operations, you will be responsible for helping define the strategy and operations of a best-in-class sales force, as well as driving reporting and insights for the GTM sales organization. In this role, you will partner with Sales executive leadership to turn data into actionable insights and lead internal sales processes and operational activities to maximise sales productivity. You will cover core areas, including reporting on sales performance and trends, working cross-functionally on initiatives to increase sales efficiency, and driving annual strategic planning. Additionally, you will have strong project management skills as you land key objectives for the company.
We work Flexible First. This role can be performed remote within the United States or from our Oakland, CA or New York City offices. We'd love for you to join us!
NOTE: if you are based within 35 miles of our Oakland, California, New York City (Midtown) or London office, you will be expected to be in-office 2 days / week. The Talent team will share more details if selected for the Recruiter Interview.
The Impact You'll Have
  • Support sales leadership to drive expected weekly cadence for forecasting, pipeline generation, pipeline progression and closing deals
  • Optimize GTM strategy including core sales processes and productivity drivers, infrastructure and automation, regional performance
  • Continually optimize our sales funnel through data, systems, strategy and process - including the sales pipeline and forecast management process, working to ensure forecast accuracy and overall pipeline health
  • Drive & support planning efforts covering sales strategy, quota setting, team structure & resourcing and account assignments
  • Provide analytical thought leadership, creating meaningful business insights, implementing strategic operational priorities and developing and allocating key performance metrics
  • Lead annual planning activities, including revenue growth projections and headcount planning
  • Develop and deliver presentations to senior leaders and executives
  • Manage and mentor a team of revenue operations professionals, fostering a culture of high performance and continuous learning
Who You Are
  • 10+ years of proven experience managing a best-in-class, complex Sales Operations function supporting growth in a FinTech / modern payments sales environment
  • Outstanding problem-solving and analytical skills, including talent for conducting research, analyzing data, developing hypotheses, and synthesizing recommendations to an executive-level audience
  • Track record in excellent process design and documentation, ideally including onboarding process optimization in regulated payments organizations
  • Experience successfully managing large-scale complex projects/programs
  • Ability to not only think strategically, but also follow through in execution and operations
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with an attention to detail
  • A proven ability to develop tactical initiatives that improve sales productivity and performance.

Compensation and Benefits
Marqeta is a Flex First company which allows you to choose your best working environment, whether that be from home or at a company office. To support Flex First, we calibrate pay to a competitive value according to working location. Compensation is aligned according to three tiers within the United States:
  • National: A baseline tier that applies to most of the geographic territory of the United States.
  • Premium: Slightly elevated from the National tier, and oriented toward a narrower set of higher cost-of-living areas, such as Los Angeles CA and Seattle WA
  • Premium Plus: A tier for the most expensive working areas, like the San Francisco Bay area and New York City.

When determining salaries, we consider several factors including, but not limited to, skills, prior experience, and work location. The new-hire base salary range for this position is:
  • National: $187,000 - $233,800
  • Premium: $202,400 - $253,000
  • Premium Plus: $220,000 - $275,000
