Director - Strategy & Execution

This is a hybrid role with the flexibility to work both virtually and from our Bloomington, MN office

What the day will look like

Aon is currently recruiting a Global Growth and Broking Strategy & Execution Manager in the Twin Cities. This role will accelerate the development and delivery of global Reinsurance Growth and Broking strategy in alignment with Global and Regional, Growth and Broking Leadership.

The role will support the execution of Reinsurance Growth and Broking strategies with focus on insights to drive strategic business growth. Demonstrating an understanding of global Reinsurance business needs, developing strong partner relationships, and balancing local with global requirements will be key to success.

In this way, the role will be instrumental in enabling the growth and broking teams to make better decisions in strategic and tactical matters, have more informed discussions, leverage data and analytics, adopt global tools and best-in-class sales practices, increasing capacity for client and broking teams to spend time with clients and trading partners, ultimately culminating in achieving new business growth across the business.

Key responsibilities:

  • Support the Global Head of Growth and Broking Strategy & Execution in strategic growth planning to drive delivery of global Reinsurance growth and broking objectives
  • Support the development of annual Strategy Plans, collaborating with leaders and functions across the regions
  • Track delivery of impact on prioritised critical initiatives
  • Leverage data and analytics, especially on market assessment, pipeline opportunities, revenues, placement data, to prepare insights, track benchmarks and measure performance
  • Support scaling of sales standard methodologies to drive outstanding growth - in alignment with global teams
  • Support Global Growth and Broking governance model including planning, meeting agendas, preparing supporting material, follow-up tracking, etc.
  • Support development and delivery of broking strategy aligned to the business priorities
  • Understand Reinsurance market dynamics, growth drivers and success factors
  • Support the development and implementation of organizational change strategies to ensure timely delivery, efficient long term success and sustainability to given initiatives
  • Build relationship with regional growth and broking leaders
  • Partner with other business functions (risk, operations, finance, HR etc) to accelerate execution on initiatives critical to delivering regional growth objectives

Skills and experience that will lead to success

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Risk Management, a related field or equivalent work experience
  • Strategy/growth consulting and/or in-house strategy/growth experience
  • 8+ years' experience, preferably within the (Re)Insurance Sector
  • Experience in developing and completing strategic plans and driving growth
  • Ability to actively and credibly contribute to the overall strategic business agenda influencing senior leaders
  • Experience in using advanced data and analytical tools to gather, analyse, and interpret data to support strategic decision-making and execution.
  • Ability to set up key business metrics and reporting systems to track performance, identify trends, and provide actionable insights
  • Strong verbal and written skills, presentation skills
  • An analytical and commercial mind-set with the ability to balance strategic needs with accelerating execution to deliver timely business results
  • Strategic problem solver, with a solution led approach
  • Experience with collaborating across business units i.e HR, Finance, Legal, IT and able to flexible manage and leverage resources in a sophisticated global matrix structure

Thesalary range for this position (intended for U.S. applicants) is $150,000 to $200,000 annually. The actual salary will vary based on applicant's education, experience, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity and alignment with market data. The salary may also be adjusted based on applicant's geographic location.

This position is eligible to participate in one of Aon's annual incentive plans to receive an annual discretionary bonus in addition to base salary. The amount of any bonus varies and is subject to the terms and conditions of the applicable incentive plan.
