Marriott Digital Products delivers an exceptional digital customer experience through our portfolio of products, including Marriott.com and the Bonvoy app, to help consumers easily discover, shop/book, and enjoy their stays at Marriott's properties. We seek a qualified candidate to join the Digital Strategy and Planning Team within Marriott Digital Products in the Director, Digital Strategy and Execution role.

As a key member of the Digital Strategy and Planning team, this role is mainly responsible for performing analysis, developing insights, and translating insights into meaningful recommendations to help drive the growth of Marriotts' digital channels (e.g. Marriott.com, Bonvoy Apps, etc.) in support of Marriott Digital's vision. The Director will be responsible for supporting or project managing cross-functional projects ranging from the co-development of strategic plans/roadmaps to oversight on the execution of cross-functional efforts to drive forward project goals and desired outcomes. Additionally, the Director will support efforts to utilize market research and data to form actionable insights to inform strategic decision-making.

The Director must demonstrate a solid understanding of the hospitality industry, technology, and the various disciplines involved to make and influence key decisions that ensure the success of the Digital Product agenda. Success in this role requires strong strategic thinking, the ability to influence and manage stakeholders, and a proven ability to effectively drive, manage and support multiple challenging projects concurrently. In addition, the ideal candidate must be a self-starter and should have proven experience in formulating business insights from data and research, defining and implementing processes/projects/programs, providing change management support, and partnering with internal stakeholders and partners to drive cross-functional initiatives forward.

ROLE FOCUS:Portfolio Strategy (Strategic Planning & Executive Communications)

This Director role is primarily focused on enterprise Digital strategic planning, portfolio development, and executive-level communications and storytelling. The role will serve as a key architect and steward of Digital's strategic planning frameworks, including annual and multi-year portfolio strategy, roadmap development, prioritization, and alignment to enterprise KPIs.

The Director will be responsible for synthesizing complex inputs across teams into clear, compelling strategic narratives that support executive decision-making, investment tradeoffs, and organizational alignment. This includes developing high-impact presentations, frameworks, and materials for senior leadership forums.

In addition to planning and communications leadership, this role will contribute to the advancement of Digital's strategic initiatives by ensuring strong linkage between strategy, roadmaps, and execution. Success in this role requires exceptional strategic synthesis, executive presence, and the ability to bring clarity and structure to ambiguity at scale.

CANDIDATE PROFILE

Education and Experience

  • 4-year degree (BA/BS) from an accredited university in Business Administration, Hospitality Management, Engineering, or a related major, or equivalent experience. MBA preferred.
  • 8+ years in business or strategy management, delivery of complex, enterprise/digital initiatives, data analytics, and visualization, demonstrating progressive career growth and patterns of leadership and exceptional performance.

  • Proven experience in strategic planning, execution, and experience in building business cases and product roadmaps to drive investment and resource decisions.
  • Robust analytical skills, including the ability to analyze data, draw conclusions, develop recommendations and report out.
  • Ability to work through ambiguous and open-ended business priorities and translate the same into clear business plans and definitions of success.
  • Ability to establish clear communication and storytelling via presentations, key performance metrics, reports, and data.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, including team player who works well with counterparts from various functions/departments and has the ability to influence the work of counterparts without direct reporting accountability.

CORE WORK ACTIVITIES

Strategic Planning

  • Support cross-functional teams comprised of Digital Products and Marriott discipline and continent leadership to assess and develop organizational strategy and long-term plan for growth.
  • Synthesize internal and external factors and consumer/technology/competitive trends as inputs to influence strategy formulation.
  • Support cross-functional working teams and lead efforts to drive progress against the strategic plan.
  • Partner with cross-functional and continent teams, including loyalty, analytics, global sales, revenue management, and technology, to develop innovative solutions and drive digital and Bonvoy member growth.
  • Provide updates to leadership, help to drive decisions, resolve conflicts and monitor progress against plan.

Strategy Execution

Assists in the execution of key cross-functional initiatives across Digital, other disciplines, and continents to drive the desired outcome. Supports Sr. Director with the following responsibilities:

  • Helps to deliver the results on a portfolio of Digital-led initiatives, including the development and execution of a comprehensive plan to hit key milestones and deliverables.
  • Secure needed program/project sponsorship and stakeholder buy-in through formal and informal channels.
  • Provide timely communication to impacted teams and stakeholders to ensure awareness and alignment.
  • Work with Insights, Strategy, and Analytics and Digital Performance team to develop appropriate project measurements and tracking.
